Rabbi Yisroel Hahn, Director of Chabad of Spokane County in Washington, was shocked when he came face to face with antisemitic comments on a page meant to promote an event he’s hosting.
Rabbi Hahn says the event will go on as planned, but he’s hurt after people from around the country and in Spokane decided to use his Facebook event as a place for hate.
“‘The Holocaust did not happen.’ ‘Shut your lying Jew mouth and stay away from our white youth,'” said Rabbi Hahn who was reading what a Facebook user posted on his event page.
Rabbi Hahn says he has never seen anything like this before. “I didn’t delete this because I want people to see that antisemitism is real.”
And that it’s happening right here in Spokane. Among the posts, one shows the star of David lit on fire with a caption asking people to spit on the Israeli flag. Other postings were so vile that we could not put them on T.V. “These are the forces of darkness,” Rabbi Hahn said.
Rabbi Hahn invited Holocaust survivor Marthe Cohn to speak on June 14th and with these posts, the rabbi says he’s more convinced than ever that this event needs to happen.
“Actually, it points the finger that we really need to bring a Holocaust survivor to speak,” Rabbi Hahn said. And he has a message to those who posted in hate: “Go and educate yourself and show up at the Holocaust survivor speech.”
The rabbi says he’s contacted police and the FBI about the Facebook posts, and adds that the light of positivity will prevail.

The Rebbe said this is why we hvae to have to do in mivtzah Sheva Mitzvos Bnei Noach and now in our generation we have the freedom and ability to do it and bring about a change in the minds of the people around us!!!
No amateurs, get off-duty police officers. Minimum one in the parking lot, one at the door, and one inside.
Brilliant. Thanks for sharing this great refutation.
I am #7 and what #8 said about the Golus is absolutely true. The Rebbe said we need to have Achdus. Loshon Hara is the opposite of Achdus. The Chofetz Chiam said that the reason we are still in Golus is because of Loshon Hara, so in essence the Rebbe and the Chofetz Chiam agree. We need to study carefully and intensly the laws of Loshon Hara. There should be contests and prizes for the children and yeshivah bachurim who know the most about the laws of Loshon Hara as they apply to actual daily life. This I think would… Read more »
Show your support on their page!
Don’t let the only comments by them be negative attacks. Show our solidarity. They aren’t alone out there. Everyone is with them and watching closely. Right?
but though I agree with all the previous postings, do take precautions. You can fight this spiritually, as well as, materially and play safe too! We are just human and they sound kind of scary.
Lavan was jealous of Yaakov’s prosperity. He didn’t want Yaakov to be connected to Eretz Yisroel.
Please record this woman’s story if she will agree to it. My grandmother survived almost 3 years in the ghetto and three more in Auschwitz and did not want to record her story and rarely spoke about. BH one year after a Chanuka party at my parents house, my grandmother began to tell parts of her story and my mother was wise enough to have my father set up a camcorder and record it. My grandmother passed away 7 years ago and today this video is the only documentation of a story that is full of open miracles and giluyim.… Read more »
until Moshiach is finally, permanently here. Sorry to say but they don’t just go away, they morph into something different. They may even stay quiet for a while, but they’re still there. Our primary goal has to be, like the Rebbe said, ‘Do everything we can to bring Moshiach.’ Apparently this wasn’t a totally isolated incident as a ladie’s identifiably Jewish owned car was seriously vandalized there as well. It is disappointing, I agree, but should it really be so completely surprising to us? What goes on in the UN Security Council, BDS, and college campuses, ad infinitum should show this… Read more »
It’s easy not only to refute them in a way that they have no answer but that embarrasses them too. All you have to do is to point out that they themselves while hating on Jews and denying the holocaust are proof that it happened. How so? They think their Fuhrer Yemach Shmo, was a great person, but why? Because he hated the Jews and said in his book and speeches that he wanted to wipe out the Jews. Later on he had absolute power. Once he had such power, if he had not tried to mass murder the Jews,… Read more »
That is horrible!!! It is shocking and horrendous that there is blatant antisemitism. Rabbi Hahn handled it very well.

And keep up the great work!
Rabbi Hahn is the most incredible, caring shliach I’ve ever met
