On Wednesday evening, women from all over Los Angeles gathered at a local Chabad House for the grand kickoff event of the new “Young Nshei of L.A.”
This was the first of much to come, as per the Rebbe’s directive of holding gatherings for Chabad women in their respective communities.
It was an incredible program with enjoyment for both body and soul. It started with a review of the Halachos and Minhagei Chabad for Shavuos.
Mrs. Chana Herzog, Shlucha at Chabad of Encino, chaired the event. She first introduced Mrs. Moriah Schmukler as the main speaker of the evening. Mrs. Schmukler is a teacher at Ohel Chana High school, and mentor to women and girls in the community at large. She spoke about the Yom Tov of Shavuos, its depth and relevance to us.
The event featured two creative presentations. Mrs. Simcha Siev is the Shlucha of Chabad Persian Youth in LA, and event designer at Simchique Event and Design. She shared tips and tricks to making a beautiful Yom Tov table look even more beautiful!
The second presenter was Mrs. Mushky Perlstein, co- director of NELA Chabad, and creator of Facebook food blog Ma-Menu. She demonstrated how to make dairy delights perfect for Shavuos. She had each recipe ready for trying and tasting.
Under the guidance and direction of the Nshei Chabad of Los Angeles, the new organization plans to hold events, workshops, lectures, and other gatherings for women throughout Southern California.

What things? Originally from LA I miss it so much. We just can’t figure out how to afford life out there, especially tuition for a large family. Please share any good news would be welcomed.
To #5 there are things in the works to make it easier to survive so come and visit.
