For the first time ever, Anash as well as friends of the Lubavitcher community of Manchester gathered together in the ‘Jewish Cultural centre – Machon Levi Yitzchok’ on Bury Old Road to inspire and become inspired with the Rebbe’s message of the immediate redemption, as well as to share ideas together on how to bring Moshiach’s complete revelation faster.
The very location of the conference was already a great inspiration for the event. The cultural centre received many brachos from the Rebbe, the Rebbe even once said that “[the building] is named after my father, so I have a cheilek in the binyan! [a share in the building]”.
The theme of the event was heeding the Rebbe’s heartfelt call some 26 years ago “I have done all I can to bring Moshiach, and now I give it over to you, Do all you can to bring Moshiach!”
The Conference was opened by the hon. Rabbi of the Machon Levi Yitzchok Shul, Rabbi Sholom Ber Liberow, who explained the reason why the conference was arranged, and excited the crowd by showing how we can see so clearly from recent events in Syria how close Moshiach really is.
Rabbi Liberow then introduced Rabbi Dov Yehuda Schochat, son of the esteemed Rosh Yeshiva in Los Angeles and a tremendous Talmid Chochom in his own right, who spoke enthusiasticly about the urgency of bringing Moshiach, and that it is possible and easy to spread Moshiach awareness even amongst Manchester and English Jewry.
Rabbi Hillel Blesofsky, Educator and Mashpia in Manchester spoke very practically about the way he and his friends, who were then studying in the Lubavitch Yeshiva in France responded to this shocking wake-up call from the Rebbe, by studying Moshiach topics in quorums of ten, giving Tezedokah and having extra concentration in the words “es tzemach dovid” in Shemonah Esre. “it’s unbelievable,” said R’ Hillel, “how a mere few months later, the Rebbe said that the world is ready for Moshiach and this is apparent, because France [which symbolizes the lowest level] is ready for Moshiach, and the Rebbe implied that this is because the Yeshiva is ready for Moshiach.”
The guest speaker was Rabbi Hilel Dovid Barber, Mashpia in Eretz Yisroel, who gave a fiery address about the need to study about Moshiach and live with Moshiach on a daily basis and to contemplate the Moshiach lifestyle into our day-to-day lives.
Rabbi Chaim Leib Hyminsohn, the Chassidishe Shochet of town, shared some of his innovative thinking on how one can live Moshiach already in the last moments of Golus.
HaTomim Oshy Goodman, a student from 770, spoke energetically that we all need to leave our comfort zone to bring Moshiach together. We have to break out of the Galus mentality and think big, what does Hashem really expect from us, and to do all the holy directives that the Rebbe told us to do exactly without chopping and changing to our desires.
Then HaTomim Levi Yitzchok Klyne, also a student in 770, spoke about the necessity to study the concepts of Moshiach with a minyan, and explained the various reasons and explanations that that the Rebbe explained in different sichos about the importance of studying Moshiach topics. He also spoke about the importance of learning and living with the last sichos which we heard from the Rebbe from the years 5751-5752.
At the end of the conference, everyone together made a decision to open for the first time, a weekly study session in the Rebbe’s sichos about Moshiach.
Afterwards was a minyan for Maariv, and now that the formal part was over, the chassidim set down for a Chassidic farbrengen until late in the night with the Guest Mashpia, Rabbi Barber.

We used to daven at the Center when Rabbi Chaim Farro, now Rav & Shliach in Ramat Beit Shemesh Aleph, was the Rav. It was a warm & welcoming place to a young family. Fond memories!
