CHYE has announced they will be hosting “The Basics of Real Estate and Beyond,” an 8-week commercial real estate course for Crown Heights residents starting Tuesday, April 25th at CHYE. The course is geared toward people looking to advance their real estate careers or to scout potential investment opportunities, and will be facilitated by the Madison Group, a leading international real estate firm based in Lakewood, NJ.
Real estate management has become a budding industry in the Jewish community, presenting people with a range of job opportunities in management, brokerage, and investing. This course, describes Sruly Rosenbaum, Director of Business Development at Madison, is designed to help people “understand the vocabulary of real estate investments”.
“Real estate has a language of its own,” says Rosenbaum. “Anyone looking to enter this wide world will benefit from the knowledge learned in this course.”
Each week will see a stand-alone topic covered by an industry professional—from mortgages and financing, to management, real estate law and brokerage—providing participants with a broad understanding of the “inner plumbing of the real estate world”.
While Madison Group offers no formal accreditation for their course, it is the perfect platform for people looking to advance their knowledge—whether for investment of employment purposes—in an otherwise complex and intricate industry.
“If you plan on participating in a commercial real estate venture,” explains Rosenbaum, “it is important to understand the language of the real estate world. What to ask from a lawyer, how to evaluate a potential investment, the best ways to procure financing—these are all things that will be covered in this course.”
“The Basics of Real Estate and Beyond” has been given in a number of Jewish communities across Lakewood, Boro Park and Monsey, benefiting over 500 students since its recent inception.
Aside for enabling many past students to either successfully invest their money, break into real estate brokerage, or open firms of their own, participants have greatly benefited from the relationships they’ve built with industry professionals. “The presenters really open themselves to their students,” says Rosenbaum. “They stay in touch well after the course is finished, providing expert advice, counsel, and often employment opportunities.”
