It’s been 4 years since Yeshivas Tzeirei Hashluchim in Tzfas was reopened and its heads are taking another step to ensure its continued growth and success.
The Yeshiva Ketana (Mesivta) was founded 20 years ago by Rabbi Leibel Kaplan, Head Shliach of Tzfas, to cater to the education of the sons of Shluchim worldwide.
The institution briefly closed and was reopened with new staff members led by Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Zalman Kaplan and Menahel Ruchni Rabbi Shneur Zalman Stillerman. 150 students went through the Yeshiva since.
Now, they are rebranding the Yeshiva and indicating that it is open for English speaking Chabad bochurim, including but not limited to sons of Shluchim.
“We decided to dedicate the name of the Yeshiva to the Rebbe ZY”A, and the Yeshiva will from here on be called Yeshivas Bais Menachem Mendel Chabad,” the staff said in a letter.
Over the course of 3 years in the Yeshiva, the talmidim acquire a broad understanding of the Gemara and Meforshim, with special emphasis on the development of skills for independent learning.
In previous years, many of their students have been tested on the entire Mesechtas Shabbos, Gittin and Baba Basra by heart. This year, many students will be tested on Mesechtas Ksubos by heart.
For Chassidus, the mashpiim in Yeshiva focus on the development of in-depth knowledge and understanding in Chassidus, and talmidim summarize the material in writing.
Currently, the talmidim in Shiur Gimmel are completing a written summary of the 53 Chapters in Tanya as well as the 12 Chapters in Igeres Hatshuva, which is representative of their broad understanding in each Sefer of Tanya.
Additionally, there is an ongoing daily seder for the learning of Rambam. The bochurim learn the daily Rambam with the help of the Talmidim Hashluchim, and are tested on a daily basis.
The following is a list of their staff:
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Zilbershtrom – Mashpia Shiur Gimmel
Rabbi Elisha Ulman – Magid Shiur-Shiur Gimmel
Rabbi Shlomo Ber Natan – Mashpia Shiur Beis and Mashgiach
Rabbi Bentzion Friedman – Maggid Shiur Shiur Beis
Rabbi Shaul Greenfeld – Mashpia Shiur Alef
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Benshimon – Magid Shiur Shiur Alef
Rabbi Chaim Zilber – Magid Shiur for the Daily Rambam
Rabbi Menachem Mintzberg – Magid Shiur in Sichos of the Rebbe
In the upcoming weeks, the Yeshiva will begin the expansion of its building, which will include a magnificent Beis Medrash, classroom and Mikveh to be used by the students.
Many of the dorm rooms have already undergone full renovation, and they plan on renovating the remaining rooms in the near future.
The Yeshiva operates without ‘off-Shabbosim’ and vacation days. Talmidim can travel to relatives on certain Shabbosim with permission from their parents. During the year, Shabbatons are organized for the talmidim in beautiful locations throughout Israel.
Talmidim are covered by a comprehensive health insurance, which covers all possible medical eventualities and medications. The Yeshiva is associated with a Chabad doctor who lives and works in close proximity to the Yeshiva.

Yes. That was and it still the purpose of the Yeshiva’s opening.
I’m just curious, I remember that you had a commitment to making the yeshiva extremely fiscally feasible for Shluchim’s children, is that still the case post rebranding? Though my oldest son is still more than a half decade away from Mesivta, your mosad’s existence was always a source of hope for me that even if my finances are floundering, my son will have a mesivta that will take him without stipulating a five figure tuition agreement as a pre-requisite. Please advise. Hatzlocho Rabbo.
