1,006 girls on Shlichus in large and small cities around the world joined together for the Grand Banquet, filling the Campus Chomesh hall in Crown Heights on Sunday night.
The timing of the conclusion of the Young Shluchos’ Kinus came just after the 22nd of Shvat, the yartzeit of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson OBM, wife of the Rebbe and an inspiration to Chabad Lubavitch Chassidim.
The Hebrew and French divisions joined the main English-speaking division of the Kinus Tzeirei Hashluchim for an event held in true sheves achim gam yachad. The evening included Tehillim, specially prepared videos, speeches, music and a catered dinner.
MC of the evening was Mushka Paltiel of Port Washington, NY who welcomed the thousand girls to the conclusion. The 12 Pesukim were said together with the Rebbe and Rebbetzin’s kapitelach.
With live music and much fun, the Young Shluchos danced their hearts out with a musical presentation by Chaya Halperin, Shlucha in Allentown, PA, who as a child was a camper in the Kinus herself!
The theme of this year’s Kinus was “A Shlucha Is A Dugma Chaya” (a living example) and focused on how simply living as a yid can have an impact on the world around them. Four Young Shluchos, Tzivi Pink – Leicester, England, Mussie Moscowitz – Bucktown, IL, Leah Avtzon – Hong Kong, China and Chana Sasonkin – Akron, OH each told how they impacted others by acting as a living example of a Jewish child.
A traditional highlight by the Kinus, the International Roll Call, was led by Mussi Sasonkin of Brooklyn, NY, where the countries and states of the young Shluchos are announced.
A keynote address was given by Chaya Kurtz from Beitar, Israel, a camper in the Hebrew division of the Kinus, and a special prize was given for each Young Shlucha, a DVD of the special video production for children on visiting the Ohel.
Many other prizes were given out as well and lots of raffles – including staff gifts of a beautiful picture of the Rebbe.
“The energy in the room was incredible,” said Mrs. Simi Shemtov, director of the Kinus Tzeirei Hashluchos. “After a packed weekend of Davening, learning, Farbrengens, trips and fun, the banquet culminated what has become the most anticipated 3 days in every Young Shlucha’s life. We would like to thank the staff on the banquet committee responsible for the event’s phenomenal success: Rabbi Moshe and Mussi Sasonkin, Mushka Paltiel, Chavi Zalmanov, and Shana Shemtov.”

The annual Kinus Tzeirei Hashluchos is a joint project of The Shluchim Office and Merkos L’inyanei Chinuch and is underwritten by The Shluchim Office.
A very special thanks goes to Rabbi Benjy Stock and the team at Beis Rivkah (Benny Wolf, Tzvi Fass, Shmiddy Goldshmid, and Co.) who have once again spearheaded the massive effort to host and cater to all the needs of the Kinus Tzeirei Hashluchos.
The special raffles for the counselors and Kloli’s were generously donated by Tzfasman Jewlers and Solika Fashion.
We would also like to thank the sponsors who contributed generously of their time, money, goods and services in order to make this event possible.
