Two parked cars in Crown Heights were rammed on Thursday evening by a driver cruising up Kingston Avenue near Montgomery Street.
No one was hurt during the collision which happened at at approximately 5:30 PM. The driver fled the scene, leaving damage to both vehicles.
One of the damaged cars’ owners called Crown Heights Shmira, and they began to search for the vehicle as well as obtaining surveillance footage.
Within minutes, the fleeing car was spotted at Troy and Montgomery with a flat tire, and Shmira patrol volunteers kept watching the vehicle until police arrived.
The driver was placed under arrest for leaving the scene of an accident, as well as for being an unlicensed driver.
In case of an emergency, call 911 and Crown Heights Shmira at 718-221-0303.
Shmira always doing great work 2 people arrested this week
Good job on the quick spotting, and gr8 to hear that police work with shmira
Like hearing about the holy work that the shmira are doing for Kan Tziva.
Keep up the great work shmira! !
Thank you Shomrim and Shmira. The only reason our neighborhood has the lowest count of unsolved crimes is because Shmira and Shomrim do the job the police wont do.
The cops are good for giving tickets (and eating donuts not only on Chanukkah).
