We don’t have to look far to see the darkness all around us. As we find ourselves living in the darkest of times the call is becoming louder and louder to find the pathway to light. The light of a holy life, goodness and joy. We must do this not only for ourselves. We have a mission to pursue more than “self-actualization”. Our personal growth is and must always be connected to the greater good. The two go hand in hand because the most powerful impact you can make is to let your True Self shine.
The book “Eyes Upon the Land” quotes a beautiful letter of the Rebbe where he tells us that the greatest thing we can each do to bring peace in the Holy Land is to bring peace between our body and soul. In Tanya, the Alter Rebbe tells us that each of the six hundred thousand general souls is connected one six hundred thousandth of the whole world. Think about that for a moment. It is both humbling and empowering: When you free your true self you liberate the whole world. So of course, the world needs each one of us.
You may not always be consciously in touch with this Truth, however deep inside you know it – YOU have something to contribute to the world that is YOURS alone.
You may say to yourself, “Who, me?! Honestly, I have no idea how to access it.” Or you ask, “Why do some people thrive and I struggle, despite all my efforts?” Nevertheless, that inner knowing that you have a unique gift with which to serve the world remains.
The truth of course is that we can access our most vital, alive and creative self. We can get unstuck and serve in the most remarkable of ways. In my experience it is not because of lack of effort that we don’t see the results we are striving for. Rather it is because we either do not have a user friendly map to travel by or we don’t know how to apply the teachings to our daily lives.
My heart aches as I see waves of trendy spirituality washing over us. Certainly there are powerful truths in many of these teachings. “Believe that there is wisdom amongst the nations…” However when I put my ear to the ground, there are so many falsehoods mingled in. “…But there is not Torah amongst the nations.” Those untruths or half-truths compromise our souls and lives.
That is one of the things that prompted me to create The Method. I wanted to offer authentic Torah based teachings that were user friendly. G-d gave us all the tools we need! We just need to know how to mine them. None of us think that losing weight, becoming fit, earning money and so on will come easy. Neither does becoming spiritually fit. Refining ourselves, maturing, blossoming, bringing Mashiach – they all take work. If we use the right tools, follow the map H-shem gave us and put in the effort, we can break free. This is what motivated me to design a Torah true program that affords participants the tools to shine on and bring the geulah.
Now is the time to shine the light outwards.
Through the guidance of my teacher (and now baruch H-shem mechutan) Rabbi YY Kesselman and other remarkable teachers, coupled with my work alongside courageous clients over close to three decades, I have worked to learn, understand and apply Chassidus to our lives.
