This Chanukah, enjoy a relaxing and luxurious Shabbos together with family and friends at the Fourth Annual Chanukah getaway retreat in nearby Waterbury, Connecticut.
The warmth and glow of Chanukah will be even brighter with entertainment and inspiration in a luxurious setting at the recently renovated Courtyard by Marriott, only an hour and a half from NYC.
Guests of this year’s Chanukah retreat will be wined and dined by renowned event planner and caterer David Teyf, of Legendary Affairs in New York City.
Teyf is renowned for providing elevated culinary experiences at events, and is the owner of the new LOX New York City, the cafe in the Museum of Jewish Heritage in the up-and-coming Downtown Battery Park City.
His cuisine there is a unique marriage of familiar old world tastes and traditional favorites with modern twists and accents, the perfect dining combination of the old and the new.
Teyf comes from a family with nearly a century of epicurean experience, and his passion is deep rooted and a foundation for his identity as a chef. He was born in Minsk, where his great grandfather and grandfather were prominent Matzah bakers, exposing David at an early age to pure, fresh ingredients.
Guests of the retreat will savor Teyf’s uniquely crafted gourmet cuisine highlighting his ingenuity, taste and design.
Entertainment will include superstar Chasidic singer Avraham Fried and lecturers Rabbi Yaakov Barber from Australia and Rabbi Yossi Eisenbach of Connecticut for the weekend of December 23 – 25.
The second Shabbat entertainment will include international superstar Gad Elbaz and lecturers Rabbi Manis Friedman and “The Nashville Rebbetzin” Mrs. Esther Teichtel for the weekend of December 30 – January 1.
The retreat will take place at the luxurious facilities of the recently renovated Courtyard by Marriott, which will offer exclusive hours for men and women at the heated indoor swimming pool, sauna and whirlpool. A state of the art fitness center and spa are located on the premises.
The kids will be entertained with a fantastic and professionally run day camp included in your stay. Babysitting options will be available. There will be a lavish tea room open 24 hours throughout the weekend.
The event coordinated by Chabad of Northwest Connecticut is expected to sell out fast. Previous getaway weekends were sold-out successes with many satisfied return customers.
The weekend will combine inspiring lectures, first class entertainment and fun for the whole family on Sunday with “Chanukah on the Slopes” nearby. Activities include skiing, snow tubing and Chanukah crafts.
