An overflow of pallets of food and drink could be seen lining Eastern Parkway today as Nachum Markowitz’s iconic fleet of trucks were filled to capacity in advance of the 36th annual Kidushim and distributions that he organizes.
Asked for comment amid the hustle and bustle of preparing the massive undertaking Markowitz thanked and blessed the donors.
Huge signs were being displayed along the trucks thanking some of the major donors of the Kidusha Raba. Topping the signage were Sholom Ber and Shoshana Drizin and family who are among the founders of the project.
Rabbi Yitzchok and Rebbetzin Raitport and family are sponsoring in honor of their son Sholom Dov Ber’s Yartzeit on Simchas Torah.
Yerachmiel and Rivkah Leah Jacobson and Simon Jacobson as well as Yitzchok ben Michoel are proud donors. Yitzchok and Devorah Benabou, Yosef Yitzchok and Batsheva Popack, the Steinberg Families, SBA Loan Group, Elazar Meir ben Yehoshua, anonymous donors and Anash from around the world are also recognized.
A moving tribute in memory of Rabbi Binyomin Klein is prominently displayed as well as a tribute to Sholom Mordechai Halevi Ben Rivkah Rubashkin.
Markowitz also thanked Rabbi Don Yoel Levy of the OK for his principle sponsorship of the motzei Yom Kippur break-fast.
