The energy pulsating from 140 N La Brea Ave in Los Angeles was overwhelming as the community joined together at Maayon Yisroel Chassidic Center for a magnificent musical event in honor of Chai Elul.
Bentzy Marcus of the Eighth Day Band joined with brothers Shlomie and Sholom Ber Rabin of the Niggun Society to journey through niggunim from various Chassidic courts such as Bobov, Belz, Motzitz and Lubavitch along with a taste of contemporary Eighth Day music.
As the crowd flooded in, all colors could be seen. From Lubavitch to Litvish, Chassidish and Modern Orthodox, every kind of Jew was found across the room. Big Rabbonim and Poshite Yiddin sat comfortably together as their spirits soared, soaking in the holy Niggunim and Toras HaChassidus.
Rabbi Reuven Wolf , Rav and Director of Maayon Yisroel, touched the crowd with a stirring story of the Baal Shem Tov’s effect on our modern day lives.
David Sacks, Spiritual Leader of The Happy Minyan and Emmy award winning comedy writer and producer, brought participants back to yesteryear with a heartwarming story of the Baal Shem Tov and meaningful words of guidance inspiring all for the New Year.
As the evening concluded, the men gathered in an explosion of dancing. All inhibitions and differences melted away as the last few niggunim brought the night to a grand finale.
The event was sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Shlome Goldner in conjunction with the dedication of Maayon Yisroel’s main study hall LZ”N their son Pinchas Elimelech ben Asher Halevi A”H.
