A man who was part of a pair of shoplifters from a Crown Heights market was quickly arrested by NYPD on Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 12:30 pm, two men were seen shopping in the Marketplace Supermarket on East New York Avenue, and store workers noticed that after filling up a shopping cart, they proceeded to place many of the items into cloth bags they had with them.
The pair then approached the counter with nearly $80 worth of meat products, which they attempted to pay for with a food stamp card.
After the card was declined for insufficient funds, the men tried to leave the store, with much of the groceries still in the cloth bags.
Although store personnel tried to hold them, they ran off.
They called Shmira volunteers, who were successful in following one of the thieves for approximately 15 minutes until the Police arrived.
The police were able to make an arrest at the corner of Albany and Clarkson Avenues.
When I was a kid I ate well Baruch H-sh-m, was not on any drugs, or anything like that, and was just as skinny.
He was stealing probably because he was brainwashed by those who raised him, to believe it was “rightfully his” and “the man” was “keeping him down”.

Maybe he’s so thin because he’s a crack head, no money left for food from spending it all on crack cocaine. This isn’t Africa, there are ways for hungry people in this country to get food, paid for by our tax dollars and private charities, no need to steal! Why don’t you invite “hungry” looking black young men into your home to raid your fridge, and leave the door unlocked so they can come back for more? Let us know how that works out for you…
