With a new two-track system, catering to children of all academic levels MyShliach has opened registration for the Chidon 5777.
Is it really almost back-to-school? That’s right. As the summer comes to a close and we head into the new school year, it is time to begin preparation for Chidon 5777.
The world-renowned Chidon Sefer Hamitzvos – introduced and directed by Tzivos Hashem – has sparked a new chayus which is sweeping across Lubavitch schools worldwide in recent years. The subject of high praise by mechanchim and mechanchos across the Lubavitch spectrum and beloved by parents who get to watch their children throw themselves into Torah learning first-hand, the Chidon offers children a chance to reach beyond their boundaries and challenge their potential.
Well, it’s time! The boys and girls respective Chidons are around the corner with the first test coming up on Chof Alef Cheshvan, so it’s time to hit the books!
In order to participate participants must study the Sefer HaMitzvos as elucidated in the Yahadus Curriculum until they know it through and through. This year for the first time they have the option of choosing between 2 tracks to compete in, with one track addressing children who would like to compete against themselves, attempting to qualify to join the international Shabbaton immediately after Purim, and the second being an advanced track where they represent their school against their peers from other schools worldwide.
After seeing phenomenal success in previous years, MyShliach is proud to say that it will once again be opening participation in the Chidon for Yaldei Hashluchim via its online platform for all 5 grades (4-8) for 5777. Registration can be filled out online at Myshliach.com/Chidon or by emailing [email protected]. Registration is open up until the first test (in Cheshvan) however classes begin the first week of Elul.
It is a real opportunity for children to grow, as Rabbi Binyomin Bitton, a parent of one of the MyShliach finalists from last year put it: “You have turned Torah learning into something fun and exciting for the kids! In today’s world this is most precious.”

I was in the chidon last year and I can honestly say I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to do it again but I’m too old. I live on shlichus and studied by myself (I didn’t participate in the Myshliach classes though) and it was an amazing learning experience! I knew it would be hard but I wanted a challenge and I was happy it wouldn’t just be questions that were super easy – you had to study hard and use your brain. On the other hand it wasn’t impossible – there was a goal – and with hard work and… Read more »
The chidon is a source of stress for many students. The questions on the qualifying tests are made purposely tricky rather than in a way that allows a student to show he/she knows the material. All the teachers I’ve spoken to at our school have said they must look up answers because of the tricky wording. Many teachers have complained to the chidon administrators about this aspect of the qualifying process. Also, parents are so anxious that their children shine that they force them to learn for many hours everyday on top of their regular school learning. This isn’t such… Read more »
