Blue Diamond Almond Milk

Blue Diamond Almond Milk, when purchased off the shelf, not from the refrigerator, is usually Pareve. Most brands of almond milk in the refrigerator sections of major supermarkets are OUD. most of the shelf ones are pareve.

I know there is a lawsuit against the Blue Diamond brand of almond milk because there is mostly lecithin and sweeteners in the milk and hardly no almonds. In whole foods there is a brand ‘365’ organic almond milk-parve. It is a totally different taste: creamy, rich and delicious.

Cholov Yisroel
August 4, 2016 9:45 pm

If the dairy companies are losing so much $, why are they not lowering their prices as in incentive. Also perhaps they can make products that are cholov yisroel. $8 for kleins ice cream vs non cholov yisroel at $4 is price gouging.

surprised...

I asked this question to the OU and they said it’s diary equipment. The OU policy is to write D even when it’s just DE

In my city, this brand is all OU-D. BTW OU does not use a DE dsignation.

It's a FRAUD
August 4, 2016 4:56 pm

These big companies’ almond milks are just 2% almonds!!!

Stop wasting your money on water infused with synthetic vitamins and a drop of almonds.

If dairy equipment is used, they need to add the d.

Re: #1

Certain halachic guidelines may deem an item DAIRY even if legally it isn’t considered dairy, ask your LOR (=local orthodox Rabbi) for more details

OU-D but no milk in the allergen warnings
August 4, 2016 2:45 pm

That usually means the product is processed while hot on equipment that has been used for dairy in the past, and has never been kashered.

Trader Joe’s Almond Milk in the refrigerator section is OU pareve

OU D
August 4, 2016 12:53 pm

Can someone explain to me why most flavored almond milk (Silk, etc.), has an OU D, when the company does not produce anything with dairy in it? Companies must disclose when there is an allergen in their product, and these “milk” bottles clearly say that the facility also produces soy or nut products, but say nothing about dairy.

Just a curiosity I’ve had for a while…
