Tonight, 60 Rabbis are graduating a full year intense semicha and post-semicha program, teaching them the ins-and-outs of the Jewish world today and all halachik issues facing us in the 21st century.
Featured speakers in this 80 minute ceremony are: The mentors of the program Rabbis Feitel Levin and YY Jacobson, and the following students: Chief Rabbi of Thailand, Yosef Chaim Kantor; Principal of Pittsburgh Yeshiva schools, Rabbi Yossi Rosenblum; and young budding rabbis, Rabbi Levi Kotlarsky, and Rabbi Meir Lerman, from New York.
In this virtual course, housed by TheYeshiva.net, Rabbis, shluchim and talmidim across the globe studied in depth the major halachic issues of modern times. From conversions to suicide; from divorces to autopsies; from mamzarus to electronics; from abortions to euthanasia; from intermarriage to the laws of a shul; from internet to astronomy, from fertility issues to officiating at a wedding.
Now, many of them who passed all the tests, will receive certification in contemporary Halacha.
Rabbi Feitel Levin from Melbourne, one of the great halachik authorities of our time, has guided these students step by step in contemporary practical halacha and has given them difficult and challenging exams. Tonight they graduate.
Rabbi Jacobson has been teaching these rabbis the skills of public speaking and teaching, and how to teach Chassidus to the masses.
Registration is now open for next year’s online high-level Semicha and post-semicha program. You can visit rabbinics.theyeshiva.net to register and for details.
