My Extended Family (MYEF), an organization which caters to children from single parent homes, put on their 1st Annual Volunteer Appreciation Evening on Monday, June 20th.
Avital Arieff LCSW Clinical Director of MYEF, Avigail Margolis Feintuch, M.S. Psy.D. Doctoral Candidate and Program Supervisor of MyEF and Rebbetzin Tzippy Vigler of Mayan Yisroel greeted guests at T-Fusion on Quentin Rd in Marine Park.
Rabbi Vigler of Mayan Yisroel, inspired us with a beautiful story and made sure all the parents knew how each child can and will reach his potential. Rabbi Daniel Director of My Extended Family Boys Division elaborated on the many different programs catering to boys from homework clubs to field trips.
The audience was wowed by a recap of the year with an informative presentation produced by My Extended Family’s Girls Division Program Director Ms. Rivkin.
Mr. Yeiger, one of our proud parents of the program, thanked all the efforts of those directing boys and girls programs, including Doniel Drandoff, Yechiel Aharonoff, Aliza Rubin and Mazal Akshlomo.
Ms. Hamel, another exceptional parent, explained how each of her children gained enormously from the personalized care and attention that the professionals of the My Extended Family Team gave.
Ms. Fishbein, of Masores School, who represents all of the ‘Big Sisters,’ explained the personal impact and personal chesed they received by being a part of this amazing program. Ms. Rochel Leah Samuel, member of the girl’s division, showed appreciation and highlighted the best parts of the year’s program. Mrs. Shterny Steinmetz spoke and was wowed by how great this organization has become from its inception.
At the end of the event, beautiful gifts were distributed to the volunteers. As well as to the children who got their well deserved Mitzva Program Prizes: cameras, gift vouchers from Judaica Place, Ice Cream House, Double Header, Buzz and Totally Toys. (Mitzva program is a year-long program where children gain points for their behavior, academic achievements and any improvements in a variety of other areas.)
A big yasher Koach to T-Fusion and Allison Kahn for the amazing and gracious space, event and hosting. There was plenty of hot food; pasta, mashed potatoes, steaks, chicken cutlets, salads and cakes!
