The Boca Raton Jewish community came together Wednesday night to celebrate the fifth “Chag HaSemicha,” rabbinical ordination ceremony of Machon Menachem – Boca Raton Semicha Program.
Attending the ceremony were parents and family members of the graduates as well as local Rabbonim and community members, honoring the newly ordained rabbis for their achievement and for their contribution to the community.
Having completed its fifth year, Machon Menachem has quickly gained a reputation as the premier Semicha program for Lubavitch bochurim.
Addressing the ceremony were Rabbi Zalman Bukiet, Rabbi Moshe Denburg and Rabbi Ruvi New, Shluchim to Boca Raton. Shmuel Forta spoke on behalf of the Bochurim.
The Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Berel Gurary, whose dedication and personal attention to the bochurim sets the high standard for Machon Menachem, delivered an inspiring farewell message to his students.
The keynote address was delivered by Rabbi Yossi Biston, regional director of Chabad of North Broward County, Florida.
The bochurim spent the last year in an intensive and rigorous learning program and were tested throughout the year by Rabbi Dovid Schochet, Av Beis Din of Tornoto and member of Vaad Rabbonei Lubavitch.
Applications are being accepted for this coming year via email: [email protected]; or call: 917 -392 0504
