Sunshine or rain, Sunday or mid-week, Montreal always holds a Lag BaOmer Parade with much fanfare.
The Chabad community in Montreal, one of the only cities in the world which organizes a grand Lag BaOmer Parade whether it falls on Sunday or in middle of the week, celebrated the yahrzeit of the Rashbi.
2000 kides showed up from 15 Jewish schools of Montreal for the event that began in front of Beis Rivkah in a display of Jewish unity and pride, as instructed by the Rebbe.
Young students recited the 12 Pesukim followed by greetings from Chabad dayan Rabbi Banon.
10 car floats and creative floats were prepared by bochurim of the Yeshiva Zal.
Children marching held signs in both English and French calling to “Learn Torah” and “Love your fellow Jew” as they walked down Westbury Avenue passing the Lubavitch yesivah to Van Horne park for a fascinating concert with children’s favorite entertainer Uncle Moshe, circus shows, magic show.
Rabbi Dovid Cohen, the organizer was the MC and greeted participants to the festival honoring Rabbi Shimon bar Yochei’s yahrzeit. and thanked the Head Shliach Rabbi Berel Mochkin for his leadership.
A series of raffles concluded yet another Lag BaOmer day in Montreal surely to be remembered until next year.

It was so amazing and professionally done and added so much to the parade!
A great Yasher Koach to vice principal R’ Zalman Berkowitz who did everything from obtaining the drums and spending hours of his time teaching the boys so well.
The boys felt so proud and it was a grand hit !
