Thanks a million.
We really jumped into this, it was total Lechatchila Ariber. We knew we had to do it because somehow we had to raise the money to cover the expenses of the multitudes of programs we did this year.
The question was how. Who would be able to get our matchers, and would we really be able to raise all the money we need?
But with one trip to the Ohel things became clear that there would be nothing to worry about. We reached out to our partners Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky and Rabbi Moshe and Rutty Weiss along with the other matchers who were more than willing to stand behind this campaign with tremendous commitment to continue and expand the work we do at Tzivos Hashem.
It was a perfect plan. The matchers money would be dedicated to the specific projects for the coming years including:
Hachayol Magazine – A weekly Farbrengen for every Chayol
Chidon Event – Starring the Sefer Hamitzvos Champions
NEW: Tanya Pearls – The basics of Tanya illuminated and applied
NEW: My Rebbe – Connecting Rebbe and Chayol
NEW: Living Jewish – Jewish basics for beginners,
NEW: Living Parsha – Timeless life lessons from the weekly parshah
NEW: 12 Pesukim Campaign – Celebrating 40 Years
The additional money raised would be exactly what we would need to clear up this past year and start moving forward with another amazing year at Tzivos Hashem.
The perfect team to run the campaign was a natural choice because they had already done such an incredible job at the chidon.
Sarah Elharrar, Chanie Mentz and Mushka Greene planned the entire incredible marketing campaign, taking care of it from ideas such as having foot soldiers on Kingston Ave, down to the smallest details such as incentives for the volunteers. Working alongside them to help coordinate were three amazing girls, Chaya Mushka Abrahams, Mussie Kaplan and Chaya Zirkind.
“What an ingenious idea it was to give active chayolim their own wall of honor. It made them feel so special and part of the campaign,” said Mrs. Margie Denburg, base commander to Hebrew Academy of Margate, Florida.
“It felt like chidon all over again,” says Sarah Elharrar, “sleepless night, adrenalin rush, establishing a goal that almost seems impossible.”
We were also very lucky to have unbelievable support from COLlive.com bringing tremendous awareness with their up-to-the-minute campaign coverage.
The best thing was the choice to work with Charidy. Their experience, guidance before the project, support designing the flyers and website, and custom programming they did for our campaign, along with their steadfast support for the 24 hours of the campaign made the campaign the success it was.
Yisroel Silman, Shamai Chein, Moshe Raskin and Getzy Raskin were a dream team, filming and editing the videos about Tzivos Hashem and the campaign in the best possible way.
Menachem Rapaport and Eli Weiss, the bochurim volunteer coordinators did an outstanding job.
We were blessed to have hundreds of volunteers making calls; bochurim, girls, parents, teachers and even principals, both in Headquarters and in different calling centers around the world.
From the beginning it was clear this was not a campaign of an individual mosad. This was a world-wide Hakhel of individuals uniting for one common cause, to support our troops so they can complete the mission for which the world was created and bring Moshiach!
The campaign started yesterday at 2pm. Rabbi Yerachmiel Benjaminson, Rabbi Sholom Ber Baumgarten, Rabbi Dovid Sholom Pape and the other Tzivos Hashem staff worked the phones from the offices while the volunteers worked the phones downstairs. It was a lot of hard work, as we trucked forward slowly but surely. By the evening we reached a quarter of a million dollars, but as night fell things slowed down, and while some of us kept trucking throughout the night, the progress was painfully slow.
At 6:30 am we took a break to daven, but sadly when I got back to the office with only five hours left to the campaign we still needed $700,000 to make our goal. It was then the campaign went into overdrive, and suddenly we felt the support coming from all ends of the world, money was literally pouring in. But still not quick enough.
So we started working on a plan to increase the matchers pledges to quadruple their donations. Once that was in place we saw light at the end of the tunnel. But the time was against us. People were asking what if you don’t make it, is it really all or nothing. The answer was yes. But our friends weren’t going to let that happen.
Over 650 people were watching there screens, many gave again in the last ten minutes, and Boruch Hashem we made it!
I am humbled by the support, that came pouring in today. It was clear that the world appreciates what we are doing, and it was the strongest encouragement to continue and expand full force ahead.
All I can say is “thanks a million!”
May the zechus of the Rashbi stand you in good stead for all that you need, and may we be all together complete the mission of Tzivos Hashem to bring Moshiach NOW!
With much thanks,
Shimmy Weinbaum
