Brocho on Challah
May 8, 2016 10:19 am

Whether it is a chabad minhag to make shlissel challah or not, the fact is that more women make challah this shabbos and are making the brocho on the challah, which is a mitzvah in and of itself! We have other much bigger problems in the community today than whether to make a key or not. When women bake challah they also daven for refuahs, shidduchim and for the troubles in the world. No matter if one makes a key or not, the important mitzvah is done. Yaasher Koach to all the women who baked shlissel challah this past week!

It says ” Ein Nohagin”. That could imply that it’s our minhag not to. I’m not sure.

The article doesnt say why a key in particular, why not a crown.

It says we don’t have this minhag. It doesn’t say we have a minhag not to. Most of us were never aware of this in the first place, so we couldn’t have a minhag not to do it.
