The Yad L’achim organization held a raffle on a Torah scroll for donors who supported their work in battling missionaries and recusing Jewish families.
With 2 accountants supervising the ballot on the eve of Pesach, the winner was announced as the Cirkus family from Kiryat Malachi.
A Yad L’achim representative immediately called the family to notify them about their lucky and precious prize.
Answering the phone was Rabbi Yaakov Cirkus who immediately recited the blessing of appreciation “Hatov vehamaeitiv.”
Cirkus excitedly mentioned that he has been donating monthly to the organization and was hoping to be the winner.
He also noted how the 13th of Nissan is the day about which the Megillas Esther has written, “and the scribes of the king have written…”
Asked what he planned to do with the Torah, he replied that he plans to donate it.
Cirkus explained that he has been regularly visiting the Ground Forces Command of the Israel Defence Forces located not far from his neighborhood of Nachlas Har Chabad.
He prays with the soldiers every Shabbos and holiday. “I always dreamt to donate a sefer Torah,” he said. “Now I will bring it to this army base to bring hearts closer to Hashem.”
Beautiful! May he be bentched with all the brochos!
What a beautiful thing to do. May he and his family be blessed
