Mr. Yoram Amor, a member of the Chabad community in Toronto, passed away suddenly on Thursday.
He was 45 and passed away after suffering a fatal stroke.
Yoram and his wife Laura, who are members of Chabad’s Jewish Russian Community Centre – JRCC, made great sacrifices to become religious in recent years, and have 3 children enrolled in Chabad schools in Toronto.
The community is shocked and deeply saddened by the sudden and untimely passing of a beloved member of their community.
“The pain this family is reeling from is unfathomable, children never to be embraced again by their father, a wife needing to nurture her dear children as she deals with her own devastating loss,” says Rabbi Levi Blau, Shliach to the Russian community of Thornhill. “As our hearts ache for this family, the least we can do is to relieve them of one major worry,” he says.
The Chabad center has set up a fund to help this family financially, during this trying time.
The financial needs of this family are both immediate and long term. Hence the fund has been set up to provide both immediate funding as well as financial stability and security for the foreseeable future.
Immediate needs include: burial costs, special counseling for his young children, and medical expenses of the past year.
In the long term, Rabbi Blau is raising funds to help them with basic living expenses including Rent and Utilities of $1500+ a month.
“Unfortunately we cannot provide solace for the emotional shock and pain this family is experiencing,” says Blau, “but we can at least to some degree relieve them of their external worries, granting them the peace of mind to focus on their internal healing.”
