Jewish singer Pinchas Tsinman has released a new single in Russian titled "Где Ты?" (Where are you?), singing about searching for Hashem in his own life and in the world.
Tsinman auditioned in the "Jewish Star" singing competition and flew in from Russia to perform on stage as a finalist in the live competition in Brooklyn, NY.
"My singing in Russian showed everyone that you can sing in any language you want and any style you want, and still be part of the competition," Tsinman said after the concert.
Tsinman said that rapping and singing about Jewish themes helps him "break the stereotype that being religious is boring. My message to others is that you can keep Torah and Mitzvos and still do the things you are good at."
Tsinman currently lives in Belarus and is a teacher in a local Jewish High School. He says he tries to reach unaffiliated Jews and help them to appreciate the beauty of Jewish life.
In his new single, "I'm asking Hashem to answer my questions and show me the right door to choose," he says.
