As record numbers of participants begin the new fall course from the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute, Journey of the Soul, this week, JLI unveiled a new website to enhance the student experience.
The website will provide the program’s 22,000 participants at over 350 locations worldwide with a multi-audio-visual review of what they learned and the ability to study more about the topic.
Features of the site include a view of the Power Point slides presented in class, the documentary-style video clip that was featured, as well as supplementary articles and additional readings.
The videos below are featured on the site www.myjli.com/journey.
Lesson One:
The video for Lesson 1 includes a music video featuring members of the 8th Day band, and is centered on the famous story of the Magid and the visitor who wondered why he owned only the barest necessities. The Magid’s response encapsulates the point of the lesson.
Lesson Two:
Some obituaries discuss a person’s impact on the world; other obituaries can cause a person to impact the world. Alfred Nobel, inventor of dynamite and founder of the Nobel prizes, is an example of the impact an obituary can have.
