Around 1,000 people enjoyed a variety of meals in the Sukkah provided by Chabad Lubavitch UK in New Street Square, one of the City of London’s largest office redevelopment projects.
Situated near sculptures by Jonathan Clark, an imaginative water feature and a ‘green wall’, was the Sukkah that provided a temporary home, as biblically instructed to Jews from all walks of life.
Meals served in the Sukkah that included lunch and sushi were sponsored by Deloitte, Charles Russel Speechley’s, Linklaters, Goldman Sachs, DLA Piper, Mischcon de Reya, Taylor Wessing and Bolt Partners.
Rabbi Bentzi Sudak, CEO of Lubavitch UK, was on hand to welcome visitors and speak about the unifying message of the holiday of Sukkos and the lulav and esrog which were made available to be blessed on.
Last Thursday evening, the sukkah was used for an event for young Jewish professionals including live music and a seasonal soup bar by Young Jewish London.
That is awesome. I wish there was something like that downtown where I work.
