Raise the volume on your speakers! A new high-energy single has just been released in honor of Tov Shin Ayin Vov – a year of Hakhel, the result of a new collaboration between Chasidic singer Simcha Friedman and arranger Ami Cohen and his orchestra.
The result is a stirring Chasidic melody pulsating with pure joy!
Rabbi Yosef Yehuda Marton OBM was a well-known ‘Baal Menagen’ and composer (one of his songs is the classic “U’Foratzto”). When the Rebbe designated Tov Shin Mem Ches as ‘A Year of Hakhel’, Rabbi Marton composed a new ‘Hakhel’ song.

For some reason, the song did not receive the welcome it deserved. Now, 28 years later, it is finally being released with a professional high-quality production.
The project was undertaken by a talented Chasidic singer Simcha Friedman, whose sweet voice has become a staple at Israeli weddings, and the arranger and composer Ami Cohen with his first class orchestra.
The song is set to the verses of ‘Hakhel’ in the Torah:
“מקץ שבע שנים במועד שנת השמיטה בחג הסוכות, בבוא כל ישראל לראות את פני ה’ במקום אשר יבחר. הקהל את העם, האנשים והנשים והטף . . למען ישמעו ולמען ילמדו ויראו את ה’ אלוקיכם, ושמרו לעשות את כל דברי התורה הזאת”.
Cohen’s tasteful arrangement and Friedman’s golden voice combine to present a rousing Chasidic hit you will want to listen to again and again. This song will definitely become an integral part of the events and the festivities of this year of ‘Hakhel’.
