A young Lubavitch couple living in the Israeli village of Kfar Chabad recently went to a recording studio. They aren’t musicians by profession, yet they wanted to express their love for a member of their family.
Zecharia and Mushky Landau composed an original song and created a music video in honor of the 3rd birthday of their son Schneur who was born with special needs.
“Exactly 3 years ago you turned me into a mother for the second time,” the mother reads, in a letter to her child in the video that has been widely shared on social media. “But this time you made me a special mother.”
“When you got older, and weren’t responding to the calling of your name, and didn’t take notice of what is happening around you, your father and I understood that Hashem decided to give us a special and high soul,” Mushky said. “We promised to do everything for you – everything so you can advance and develop.”
The song itself is sung by the boy’s father, who says he will never be the same person as he was before he became a father of a child with special needs, and that his son helped him find a new love inside himself.
The most moving part of the song is when Schneur’s older sibling Mendy Landau joins into sing as well. “And I pray to the guardian angel to bless him and light the road for him,” the brother movingly sings.

Its great to see such love expressed proudly by parents for their child regardless of his special needs or challenges.
I wish communities worldwide would be supportive and non judgmental towards children and adults with disabilities or special needs.

That was so beautiful! What a light these parents are- the way they have embraced their special child and empowered their older child to embrace and love his brother. May hashem bless them with strength, health, happiness, and Nachas from both of their children.
A mother came with cries to the Rabbi and could not understand why after having a large family her next child was special, The Rabbi said to her how did you have the Zechus to receive from Heaven such a Tsaddik of a Child.

Im a mother of a boy with autism. We are a balteshuva family. Do not turn away from children and adults with additional needs. Teach your children to not laugh and bully. Im hoping that you ALL hear me and do not be bystanders. My older son was mistreated by jewish schools and jewish children and to this day….he still asks why. Gd bless you. All families with additional needs children. Our kids are the lsmpligjtets to inside others hearts. We see eho is kind snd who is fake.
