Shneur Zalman Pevzner, a bochur who learned in Brunoy, France, passed away on Tuesday, 10 Elul, 5775.
He was 22 and suffered from a terrible illness during the past year.
Shneur Zalman is the son of Shluchim Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak and Rivkah Pevzner, who direct the Sinai Schools in Paris. His grandfather was Rabbi Hillel Pevzner OBM, Shliach who founded the first Jewish day school in post-World War II Paris.
Shneur Zalman was a Shliach in the Brunoy Yeshiva in France, and had a huge “kuch” in Moshiach, his friends said. He organized campaigns and Shiurim about Geulah and Moshiach.
He had been suffering from a terrible illness for the past while. Many took Hachlotos in his merit in a campaign started by his friends.
“We ask that people continue to send in hachlata – resolutions in Shneur Zalman’s memory,” his friends requested. Click here to add a hachlata.
He is survived by his parents, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak and Rivkah Pevzner, and siblings Chaim Mordechai Pevzner, Nechama Dina Bluming, Menachem Mendel Pevzner, Avraham Baruch Pevzner, Alti Majesky, Chaya Mushka Piekarski, Chani Pevzner and Arye Pevzner.
He is also survived by his grandparents, Mrs. Echka Pevzner and Rabbi Sholom Ber and Sara Schanowitz of Crown Heights.
The Levaya will take place tonight at 6:30 pm in Paris, from ‘Sinai’ of Paris, and from there continue to Eretz Yisroel.

Brunoy parent.
Zalmy wasn’t the prototype Moshiach activist. (Not to anyone else’s bad). He endeavored To do everything with a pnimiyus. he wanted to understand and live and feel everything he did. Though he did not obviously wait until he reached there. still, that was his goal. He equally Koched in the part of the sicha a of chef ches nissan, that we find ourselves in an inner golus in areas of avodas hashem. We can all learn from this, to do things entirely, with our full self. Not letting different parts of ourselves out of our service of Hashem. but to… Read more »
What is there to say on this sad day? When a bochur so young is taken away A koch in moshiach was his right of way A tomim a masmid was his sway His name Shneur Zalman He did all he can To learn, daven with a chayos With the constant goal of being pious No title can be given to parents who lose a child The feeling of emptiness is never mild The challenge of this test does not go away And remains constant every single day The test to our emuna is so hard And for this we… Read more »
i know the family, such a sad loss
So sorry for the very special family.
I took on a hachlata for him, and in truth, I was the one who has benefited a lot, and in a surprising way, from the hachlata. This never happened to me before when taking on such a hachlata. Because of this I figured that he must be an unusually special neshama even tho I knew nothing about him personally. May the family need no more nechama — Moshiach now!
I never met Zalmy but I’ve been saying so much tehillim for him lately that this feels like a personal loss. Putting together peices from comments, it seems like Zalmy was a refined, warm and sincere boy who had a passionate dedication to his identity as a yid and a chabad chossid. May his family be comforted- I lost a young family member three years ago and i can only imagine what you are going through. As Zalmy would probably say to this craziness- the only asnwer is Moshiach!!!!
May we merit his coming very soon!
Heartbroken for the family. He sounded like such a wonderful bocher, What we all espire for our children to be like.
Moshiach now!!!!
The emunah and bitachon of the Pewzner family is amazing. May Hashem give much comfort and strength and the ultimate nechama of Moshiach now!
I had the zcbus to sit with Zalmy by davaning, he would daven for hours with true kavana a true chosid we can all learn from.
OY he was good friend of mine brunoy

zalman was a very good bochur specially in midos tovos ,when i came to the zal of brunoy he was the first one to give me a warmth sholom aliychem ,to ask my name….he also invited me on the hafsokos once a week to help him in a mivtza of hafotzas hamayonos for not lubavitchers, so we would seat together and preparate hundreds of flyers of chassidus…such a chasidishe bochur….we dont understand the ways of hashem…but the rebbe teaches us that we have to ask hashem…why this has to happen? why moshiach didn’t come until now? why more pain and… Read more »

The levaya in Israel is tomorrow (Wednesday) morning 10am Shamgar and then Har Hazeisim
I remember Schneur Zalman when he was a young bochur learning in Brunoy. He was always warm and had a smile on his face even to bochurim he was not close too. He would also play chassidishe niggunim so beautifully for the whole yeshiva during Adar dancing. Ad Mosai!

AD MOSAI.
Zalmy, in hospital was going from one office to an other one to look for Jewish doctors and workers, to put on tefilin with them, one big doctor, where it was very difficult to enter his office without appointment even his personal secretary didn’t just walked in,Zalmy did and insisted to put on tefilin, and this doctor couldn’t after so many refuses, refuse to Zalmy and finally put on tefilin
What he would want now is that we should all take a hachloto especially because Shnas Hakel for each and every one of us to stay adding in Geulah U’Moshiach to have a daily couple minutes study about Moshiach as Zalmy would always say: “if the Rebbe tells us that that’s the quickest way to bring Moshiach then why waste time on other things”? So let’s just get straight to the point and take a hachloto lizchoso to bring Moshiach! It’s a short and easy thing, but we need to commit to it.
Why ? hachem why ???It’s just so sad and heartbreaking. My heart is crying for the loss of such a tzadik. I had the privilege to grow up with him and his family and even when he growed up , we ‘d never talk to each other because of tznius , all what i can say is that his torah was shinning from inside . He was so devoted to torah , to the rebbe and to bring moschiah. He would always do mivtzoyim even when he was physically weak . His sister told me that everytime he was in… Read more »

Zalmy was a real believer in Moshiach!.. He would always Farbraing about Moshiach and Shturem about ‘AT AT KOMT MOSHIACH!’ Zalmy was a living example to all of us to stay strong and believe that Moshiach’s coming is really imment for that’s what the Rebbd told us! He would always make sure to learn the Sicha from 5751/5752 and teach it every Friday night at Yeshivah. He made sure that not only he believes in Moshiach rather everyone around him too.. Oy vay!.. Rebbe! Braing Shoin Moshiach’s!..
