Shluchim living in far flung communities described one of their greatest challenges: raising their children without any friends or schooling, nearby.
For Shlucha Esther Lifshitz of Boise, Idaho, sending a child off to a far away school at a young age, terrifies her most of all.
The Online School from the Shluchim Office has saved her, and many other Shluchim parents, from that heartache.
In 2005, the Shluchim Office launched the Online School with 35 children. Today, thanks to the kind generosity of Lilian and Mayer Nigri, more than 900 children of Shluchim are enrolled.
The establishment of the online school saves Shluchim the heartache of having to send their kids away from home at a young age or having to spend valuable time home schooling them on their own.
Today, beginning at 12 PM, the Shluchim Office will embark on an ambitious fundraising campaign to raise $1 million to support their programs for Shluchim and their children.
Generous donors have agreed to match all donations for 24 hours, up to $1 million. But it’s all or nothing – if the entire amount isn’t raised, the funds will not be donated.

We all know of the self-sacrifice of Shluchim on a daily basis, but few are aware of how much the Rebbe invested to make it less of a sacrifice.
During a farbrengen in 5747 (1986), the Rebbe asked that a central organization be established where every Shliach can turn to for help.
As the only organization established at the request of the Rebbe specifically to serve the needs of Shluchim worldwide, for the last 28 years the Shluchim Office has been serving the Rebbe’s Army.
To date, thousands of children of shluchim across the globe depend on the programs of The Shluchim Office. Many of them are in far off and remote towns, with no friends like themselves.

The Shluchim Online school has kept the children across the country alongside their peers in all areas of learning. The children have routine, consistency, and great chinuch.
Esther Shusterman Lifshitz was also teaching homeschool and Sunday Hebrew school as well. Therefore, even in Boise, Idaho the kinderlach and the community benefit from high quality chinuch!
