I am crying every day I miss him very much!!!8/4/15
I am still in schock
I meet Mordochai when I was, 10 years old 28 years ago
He was my best friend, the one and only, I WILL NEVER HAVE
I will never find a friend like him again so sad!!!!!
may the family be comforted. I had the zechus to see this special chassid’s smile to me and everyone he met. A true Ohev Yisroel. We should all wish to have a small bit of his qualities.
Years ago, as a bochur, I was zocheh to assist Mordechai with the ‘Shabbos Club’ at ‘FREE’ .
I learned a tremendous amount from him…about chinuch, devotion to the Rebbe’s inyonim, and plain mentchlechkeit.
May the zechus of all his kiruv and mivtzoim bring blessings to his family yichyu, and may we be reunited soon, b’karov mamash!

He was such a special person! May Hashem comfort his family with the coming of Moshiach NOW!!
the amount of comments in honour of this special yid,are a reminder to us all ,who the true heros in our lives are .
.so very sad that his passing leaves a void that can never be filled until moshiach comes.every day without him is a day without subshine
if everyone would be more like him, we’d have sooo much more achdus. now we learn about him, we should take the example to heart. its our opportunity to see into the life of a loving, pure mench.
He was such a kind man, happy, caring and a dedicated father. BDE. We really need Moshiach already
Tova May we see your father now with moshiach!!!!!!
Great guy. Will always remember you, Mordechai.
Was an amazing person. Brightened up the day of whoever he met- wheather her he was in the ice cream truck, on the bus or even in his house he always greeted everyone with a smile
A few summers ago my family spent some time in the Ellenville area, one night, on the way to Monticello, where some of the kids were going to catch the Excellent Bus Service to Canada, I stopped off at Landau’s in S. Fallsberg just before closing at midnight. After the shopping, my car wouldn’t start, Mordechai was there and tried unsuccessfully to help jump start the car. It didn’t take him very long to figure out the situation and immediately offered to drive us to Monticello. Mordechai first dropped off his son at home, then drove us to Monticello, waited… Read more »
Dearest Faigy and Tova, I can’t believe it!!!! No words can describe the pain and sorrow that I am feeling for you…. All I can say is that I am always here for you. May we only good news!
I was a small girl on his bus. even though he only did it for one year, i remember him well. we used to call him mordechai hayehudi!
We are Shluchim who live across the country and bring our kids to the bungalow every summer. Out of their entire New York experience, ‘mordechai’ is talked about most often throughout the year. And it’s not the ice cream they’re talking about, it’s him!
Mordechai- A real Yid.
Thank you for all the nice comments my family appreciated it..
Also tatty you are the best father. We need משיח now עד מתי
He was always warm and gracious with those he met and hosted in his home. The word “no” was not part of his vocabulary. May his family be comforted with the knowledge this exceptional man touched so many lives and helped so many people.
There are no words. Ur father was so special, just being in ur house, coming over for farbrengens, and studying by you it was clear ur family was special; ur father always with a smile, a friendly joke, a warm welcome, questions about my family. And u all got it from him..miriams warm welcome, tovas bubbly personality.. May Hashem give u strength

I remember him from arranging busing for out-of-town shabbatons in CT. He was always friendly and went the “extra mile.” A sweet man who will be sorely missed.
I had the Zechus my father was his close friend and i knew him well. please, mordechai, come back! when you think “its not fair” think about Mordechai, who spent his whole life serving Hashem and making ppl happy. its not fair he died so early. it’s not fair for miriam, zevi, faiga, moishy, pinny and Tova. its not fair a 15 year old whud be orphaned. He’s in Gan Eden and yet we cry “ITS NOT FAIR” because its hard for us to understand and to grasp that its not about us. I cant describe the emptiness in my… Read more »
interesting connection: parshas nasso speaks about levi’im. the levi’im spent their entire life fulfilling the work Hashem wanted them to do. So did Mordechai Halevi. They came to elevate the world for Hashem. So did Mordechai Halevi. They fulfilled Hashem’s mission and Hashem was very pleased. I KNOW HASHEM TOOK MORDECHAI AND IT’S NOT FAIR!!!!!!!!! BUT HE DID IT BECAUSE MORDECHAI WAS THE MOST PRECIOUS TREASURE HE HAD SO HE WANTED HIM CLOSE NEARBY!!!!!!! Tova, we love you!!!!!
such a sweet man.
where are they setting shevah
BDE
A great guy with a wonderful heart!
Sweetest man!
Also an amazing bus driver for uly
im so sorry tova,
i hope hashem comforts you
Gosh, I find myself getting a bit emotional about the sad news of Mordechai’s passing. My memories of him go back to when I was a young boy climbing into the school bus every morning, and being greeted with a lively and spirited “Good Morning Shmuli”, and a huge smile. Those short greetings each morning really boosted my school days and will be always etched in my memory.
My his family be consoled from the Oibeshter with much serenity and true Simcha.
I will aways remember him for Shabbos Club and enlightening me.
his name was what he was mordechai hatzadik and goldin he was pure GOLD!!!!!!!
He drove my boys to school and never failed to greet them with a smile. Even when one of them was too young to be in school, he would let him come on the bus just to make him happy. What a special man! He will be very missed.
Truly a special special man.
What a tragic loss for the crown Heights community
What a kind hearted, caring man! Always a smile, always caring, always asking how I was or my husband was. Really a special Yid! May Hashem comfort the whole family with the ultimate comfort of Moshiach and and Mordecai back neshama b’guf bakarov mamesh!
A great jew, a great loss, he always made the world a happier place with his constant smile!!
It seems only yesterday that I attended your huppah. You were a dear neighbor and advisor. You will be missed for many long years to come. BDE. Sara Leah Gross
What a loss !! Such a Yid !! A Levi!!
Ad Moashi
Mordechai gave out letters every year before Chanuka , telling all parents of his bus route not to give him any Chanuka presants
One day he drove all the way to my bungalow colony to personally deliver to my 2 boys a free ice cream. I asked him why? He said he owed it to them from another time. I couldn’t believe it. He was extra nice all the time. He let all the children on his truck, and never got nervous.
tova! the whole bnos Meacham is with you! we love you and your bubbly happy personality!
Were so sorry for your loss and were always here when u need us. <3 you bmers

he was always smiling, even when he wasnt well. he was a bus driver in my daughters school for one year and all the kids called him mordechai hayehudi.
My dear friend Mordechai… always a mensch.. always gave me chizuk during tough times… you influenced me to become shomer mitzvos at camp Gan Yisroel Russian division. . You always made me feel welcome, not judged, respected and loved.. you brought me to understand and cherish my Jewishness.. I witnessed your incredible respect towards your mom until her last days. . My heart is heavy today but I know the Rebbe and the angels are welcoming you with open arms and the deepest of love, as you’ve done for me and so many young American Jews from the former Soviet… Read more »
So sorry for your loss. Mordechai was an exceptionally good man. He drove my kids bus and would let them come on the ice cream truck when he came to our bungalow colony. The kids felt so special. Always a smile and a kind word. Its a sad say.

# 31. ur on the mark. Mordechai Hatzadik spent many yrs with the Summer FREE overnight camp being the Ruach Hachaya of the whole program. He Manned the CHAMAH Russian Mitzva Tank for yrs in Brighton Beach. The first yrs of my Shlichus I stood with him for hrs doing Mivtzoim.. BDE our hearts go out to Penina and the children as well as Herb Schulman, his father in law. May the family know no more sorrow, Phyllis we miss you, we know you will pave the way
Mordechai was the nicest man always with a big smile. He treated each person with such respect regardless of their age. HaShem takes back the nicest people!!
If it wasn’t for Reb Mordechai’s Camp Free 22 years ago,my self and many others in the “Russian Division” would have never known that Hashem, the Torah, and the Rebbe were real and would have never have become frum.
It’s sad day down here but Reb Mordechai is gonna do some yelling up there on behalf of the Jewish people and demand that MOSHIACH comes now!
He was so kind to the ULY children every morning…always with a cherry good morning..the kids were thrilled that they can say hello to him-when in the country…but the most memorable was when they would get ice cream on Purim…Mordechai was their favorite person!!
Our world lost a big Tzadik, real chosid, with big Heart and Ni shama. Ad Mosai!!

Their chachnasas orhim was exceptional, all the Russian biochurim knew, Shabos they can come to Mordechay’s appartment to have a meal, fit for the king. Even if it were 20 of them, he would find a place for everyone. His stories… A real hosid, a real Man. The world is not the same now. Crying for Moshiah.
I can still remember when he first came to morristown NJ. chayas, sincerity, a beautiful mench!
