Rabbi Avremi and Esther Hartman (nee Yarmush) have been appointed as new Shluchim to Vietnam.
The Hartmans, along with their young daughter, will be moving to Ho Chi Minh city, where they will direct activities for the local Jewish community and tourists.
Ho Chi Minh City, formerly named Saigon, is the largest city in Vietnam and is the economic center of the country.
With the recent economic growth in Vietnam, there is also a growing need for Jewish services and programs for local businesses and tourists.
The couple joins the Shluchim already in the country, Head Shliach Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hartman and Shliach in Hanoi, Rabbi Levi Laine.
