250 women gathered at Lubavitch Yeshiva hall to pay tribute to the dedicated volunteers of the Shifra and Puah organization in Crown Heights.
The organization, which assists new mothers in the community, has been operating for over 4 years, and has helped more than 600 women to date.
The dinner was MC’d by Mrs. Rochi Kesselman.
Following the reading of the Rebbe’s kapitul by Mrs. Tova Lapidot, a video of the Rebbe was shown about the shir hamalot, which is important for the baby and the mother.
Tzipora Vogel connected the parsha with Shifra and Puah, and Margalit Chaotov explained about the organization’s expenses and the importance of participating in the raffle and encouraged people to donate.
Later, a film produced by Chani Farkash was shown, which depicted the organization’s varied activities in the community.
Mrs. Shlomit Slapochnik thanks the volunteers for their amazing Chesed.
Entertainment was by Liba Farkash, who performed a song accompanied by Mrs. Suri Levilov on the keyboard. The highlight of the event was a special sand art show by artist Tzivi Waxman.
A raffle for a $20 bill from the Rebbe, donated by Mrs. Esther Koran from the women of the Crown Heights Mikvah, was drawn. The winner was Mrs. Itzchakov. Nechami Gutman won a special pin of the Rebbetzin.
The success of the event was due to the dedication of Michla Segal, Chani Farkash, Shlomit Slapochnik and Devorie Reinetz and Dorit Antian, and special thanks was given to the volunteers and donors of the organization.
