On the 2nd night of Chanukah, hundreds of people gathered to witness the lighting of the Menorah by Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Holtzman, Shliach of SUNY campus.
The rabbi was joined on the cherrypicker by the Chief Medical Officer of SUNY Downstate, Dr. Michael Lucchesi, who was given the honor of lighting the Shamosh.
Musician Rabbi Chaim Fogelman uplifted the crowd with live music and singing as participants were treated to latkes and doughnuts.
New York State Senator Jesse Hamilton, and the CEO of the Medical Center Michael Miller addressed the crowd.
Emceeing the event was Michael Harrell, Assistant Vice President for Community and Governmental Relations at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn’s only academic medical center.
Rabbi holzman , you pulled off a great event. You accomplished something that very few shluchim could accomplish. Not only were you an inspiration to the faculty and students of suny, but you also greatly inspired the visitors who came from crown heights to support the event. This was very much in the spirit of מוסיף והולך ואור.
