An Orthodox Jewish man was attacked by three people at a train station in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood in New York City on Monday.
The incident was reported by New York Daily News on Tuesday, saying the 53-year-old Israeli tourist was attacked by 3 people at the Marcy Avenue Subway station.
The Jewish victim was waiting for a train around 4pm on Monday when one of the three suspects approached him from behind and tried to take something from his pocket.
When the Jewish tourist turned around and asked the stranger what he was doing, the attacker called him a “dirty bloody Jew,” according to reports.
The attacker then spit at the man, grabbed his umbrella and beat him over the head. The attackers fled the scene, boarding a Manhattan-bound train, after a bystander came to help the victim and was also attacked, Ynetnews reports.
In other news, following the brutal terror attack on a synagogue in Jerusalem on Tuesday morning that murdered 4 Jews during services, the NYPD has increased its presence at key locations in New York City.
“We have increased our police presence at synagogues and other key locations around the city,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a statement. “As always, we ask New Yorkers to stay alert and immediately report any suspicious activity.”
The Mayor added, “I am horrified and heartbroken by today’s terror attack in Jerusalem, which took the innocent lives of four people. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families. New York City stands in solidarity with Israel at this difficult time, and we hope and pray for a peaceful and secure future for all of its people.”
Detective Vincent Martinos of the NYPD Community Affairs at the 71st Precinct, said the same cautionary steps are being taken in Crown Heights, home to Lubavitch Headquarters – 770 Eastern Parkway.
“In light of the recent terrorist attacks in Israel, the 71 Precinct will be stepping up visits and presence at all synagogue located in the confines of the 71 Precinct,” he said.
Martinos noted that “At this time there is no information on any pending activity in NYC and it is strictly a precautionary measure and to reinsure the community we serve of their safety.”
Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams said in a statement: “I have faith in the NYPD that they will ensure the safety of all New Yorkers, regardless of their background, in the wake of these events.”
wow so sad
to add to what he is doing, he needs to STRESS TOLERANCE AND DECENCY. You can’t always police people, they do need to exercise self restraint and decency. Where is this guy who calls himself mayor???
hashem yeshmar
Now u c its goin on in williamsburg. Satmar blames all the killings & tradedgies that go on in the holy land on the state of isreal & the Zionists well u c its got nothing 2 do with the state of isreal look its bad stuff is goin on “in their own neighborhood” so my message 2 satmar is stop blaming the state of isreal the Arabs hate jews & they want 2 kill us. That’s it.
Concealed weapon permits, is what you liberals need to increase.
More cops = more tickets, more reports AFTER the crime happened.
I agree wholeheartedly
We wouldn’t need more cops if mayor sharpton would let the cops do there job..
