effectively ending bullying
January 2, 2015 12:27 am

It is too bad that I didn’t see this post in November when it was posted. But if there is still anyone who will read this comment, there is a social worker who will train a child by phone how to respond to bullies, and it only takes one or two sessions, and the fee is reasonable, and the sessions are fun and effective. My child had two sessions with this man and his problems in the class were over in two days. Two days was enough to change the entire class around, just from one child learning how to… Read more »

Mandatory Viewing is Required!
December 9, 2014 10:49 am

Bullying has NOTHING to do with relocation. I was born and raised and went to school with the same core group of 25 girls (some years more/some less) for 13 years and they never ever embraced me for who I am. Even as recently as several years ago while attending a wedding of a classmates child a former classmate whispered a snide comment and was stunned when I responded with: “We are not in 10th grade anymore- If you’re not thrilled with my company feel free to find another table at this wedding. Everyone is enjoying my terrific sense of… Read more »

Im shocked

How horrible to be bullied in any way, shape or form. People turn a blind eye when confronted with the truth. They dont wish to deal with it and hope it goes away. For them it does, for us, it lingers. Moving areas, schools, families, friends, the Talented Intellingent Mature always come out shining exactly like Shaindel, and this the bullies know. Shocking behaviour by those whom attend “Frum” Schools, shocking…

I cant stop crying. this video quoted me!

This is an incredible video! Truly! I personally went through a similar challenge, and trust me, I know how it feels to be completely rejected from your class-mates. I would come home from school in 6th and 7th grade, go straight to my room and sob myself to sleep. When I saw this video for the first time, I seriously could not control myself. I cried that whole day. I cried for myself, I cried for my friends whom I have rejected, and i cried for anyone who is going through this. The video broke my heart. I suddenly began… Read more »

Having been there, I remember being told to overlook alot, and it will be better in the long run. Unfortunately, when one is constantly abused, whether in school or at home, it gets to a point that the abusee can no longer overlook. Sometimes, by letting the bully get away with bullying, it tells him/her that he/she is wonderful as is, which fuels the bullying/cruelty, which is VERY not fair to the abusee.

Commentors don't downplay bullying
November 17, 2014 11:37 pm

I was with the same kids from nursery through high school. I was the kid who everyone passed notes about as the stupid one despite my actual iq score. I was the kid who was told there was no space at the lunch table so as a result I skipped lunch during high school causing me to look anorexic and causing health problems to this day. And I was the kid who ran away from that and became frum – feeling that in a world of v’ahavta l’reicha komocha bullying could not exist. Here people would practice what they preach.… Read more »

From the other perspective
November 17, 2014 8:16 pm

As a teacher in a girls middle school, I see all the time when kids are not aware of how others perceive what they say. Many times kids are cruel without even realising it. And on the other side of the coin, many times girls feel that others are saying mean things to them and picking on them when it is all in their head. That is not to say that real bullying happens. Of course it does. But many times it is a lack of awareness on the part of the bully and a class discussion on the topic… Read more »

this video doesn’t have a conclusion…. how is that an ending for most girls to look up to? most ppl don’t get a magical friend and that isn’t a solution. it should be like she stands up for herself or a real solution of the type.. good song though…

It’s more important than all subjects!! If you’re not learning to be a Mentch, than what’s the purpose of school, Yiddishkiet?
But, I do agree that those who were ignored or bullied, should find a place in them to forgive and get intervention if needed to get over it. We really don’t know what the bulliers/ignorers were going through and forgiving 100% may be a channel to open up Brachos for yourself and for them!

From someone who was ignored, and in certain settings bullied.

Is this bullyinng?
November 17, 2014 1:49 pm

Beautiful video. Bullying is forcing someone to do something or threatening someone. One is supposed to give others the befit of the doubt-maybe the school girls were bashful and not used to newcomers. Schools and parents should teach children social skills-it’s more important than most subjects.

Shenidel thank you
November 17, 2014 12:23 am

Thank you for bringing this topic to the forefront with your incredible music and voice, well done!

My thoughts...
November 16, 2014 9:55 pm

Very well done. Thank you for making this. it’s very moving — and very thought provoking.
I am a teacher, and a mother. And I am not sure that I am aware most of the time if there is bullying, or ignoring happening, so if you feel that it is happening, please speak up. We care, and we want to help.

Excellent comment!

I love this video
November 16, 2014 6:44 pm

I keep watching it again and again and again….

Thank you for doing this!

great topic!!
November 16, 2014 6:36 pm

Are teachers and parents not aware, watching and intervening? I hope the parents of the bullied are also aware and are making sure it stops and for real.
If you are being bullied/’ignored, just know, that the ones bullying/ ignoring are the ones who really need self esteem and emotional help. If a parent is a true example of pure Ahavas Yisroel, it is very probable that your children will follow in your direction.

We can improve
November 16, 2014 6:28 pm

so moving
and sad

Bullying and social exclusion can and must stop!
November 16, 2014 6:00 pm

if we make it uncool to be exclusive, we will all be inclusive! if you see others excluding others, tell them you are not impressed. they do it because you allow them to. in an inclusive society being exclusive is not accepted!

OMG!!
November 16, 2014 4:48 pm

Rivky Saxon… you are a movie star!!! 🙂

wow
November 16, 2014 4:37 pm

shaindel amazing video. and you look so pretty as usual… stunning voice… very well-done and also heartbreaking video..im sure that if any bully watches this it will wake up something in them

So true!
November 16, 2014 4:20 pm

It never goes that feeling of rejection, even when you get much older you will still remember how hurt and nullified you felt at the time. Some people are just too cruel or perhaps they do not realise the mental (and sometimes physical) pain it causes because they never really experienced this kind of hurt themselves. Insulting someone, in any form, is in some aspects, a bit like killing them.

Wow!! So beautiful. Teachers are partly responsable.
Favoring girls is also a form of bullying. Teachers have tje power to uplift girls having a socialy hard time.

Lovely, but not bullying
November 16, 2014 4:04 pm

Her hurt is because her family moved while she was a pre-teen and the new girls weren’t too welcoming. Been there, moving is difficult for some children who are older, dislocated from old friends and school.

Look who you were mean to Bullies!!
November 16, 2014 4:00 pm

Shaindel, don’t worry. You are now having the last laugh…. Showing the world your talent and success! We know you treat others with welcoming love and kindness.

It is amazing that your schoolmates- children raised with the Rebbes direction- can treat others like that!! No wonder Moshiach isnt here yet!

What are the bullies doing with their lives now?

finally
