Bochur’s Drive Caught on Video

So proud!! Only chabad 🙂
its incredible how after seeing such a beautiful video people can still manage to comment something negative
I learned we should always be persistent and n
never to late for a mitsva.
Go shmueli
Wow Shmulie how incredible. You rock from New York to Los Angeles to Brunoy.
the guy is totally laughing at that dude. and im sorry, that bochur deserves a massive yesher koach.
u did amazing. wow. awesome running, dude.
i agree with 68. and this guy must have gotten special strength to physically do that
Such determination on the bochur’s part. Don’t know him but I felt very proud of him and quite emotional.
seriously all the haters this guy made such a kiddush hashem and how dare you critsize him!!! you wouldnt be able to do it!! get a life!!
Bochur you made me smile and be proud to be a chossid!
It wasn’t even about if it was all kosher – it showed the jogger I luv u ur a Jew well do anything for a fellow Jew!!!
True Ahavas Yisroel
Proud proud proud
Amazing sincerity thanks bochur( what’s ur last name Shmully?)
That was the funniest video ive seen in a while.
I’ve found that starting the conversation by wishing Shana Tova, Chag Sameach or Happy Chanukah etc to be pleasant, non offensive and very effective, they will almost always respond in kind, you can then ask if they’re Jewish to verify. If they aren’t Jewish they’ll return a blank stare, you can then explain that it’s a Jewish Holiday and wish them well.
The Bochur was not overly pushy, the guy consented very easily, the Bochur deserves to be commended!
i’m sure the Rebbe would have a lot of Nachas of this!
This Bachur’s commitment is extremely admirable. And should be recognized as such. The other guy on the other… Let’s just say he has some growing up to do. But as Lubavitchers/Chabad, we can’t get bent out of shape every time some loser tries to have some fun at our expense. We’re too big for that…
if you are not a real chossid you never will understand that (al pi haloocho, yotze, etc etc) we´r oibed Hashem not oibed the Shulchon Oruch!!!, and this bochur like all the chassdishe bochrim give Nachas Ruach, and made the emmesse hachtoras hamalchus!
This man will forever remember the bochur who chased him down literally for mitzvahs! Nay sayers be silent and don’t act like misnagdim.
Apparently the guy himself knew the difficulties of blowing a shofar …and was blown away with his ability to blow WHILE running,as you can see his facial expressions/ comments during this run.
Bochur is adorable.
Keep up your great work!
And to 55:stop worrying so much…unfortunately your life is governed by what secularism has to say …so sad.
Hopefully you’ll come around…
It’ll be good for your personal life and relationship with Hashem.
Start by being true to yourself .
must have been pretty hard running and blowing at the same time!
funny, the bochur wanted him to hear the shofar, he didnt care how much he had to run,
You sound insecure and shallow
Its about ahavat isreal and bringing jews closer to yidishkiet. Period.
In non chassidic media this is being portrayed as the bochur being made fun of and taken for a ride. Food for thought on perspective.
As i remember hearing that he said to one of his aides perhaps reb yudel, somethibg to the lines of yes tell the new york times to write Menachem Mendel Schneursoon is crazy about Moshoach. If your not proud to be Chabad then don’t Chas Vesholom represent it or stop the true ones from doong their holy work!
stop thinking about how why and if it was wrong and start realizing that this person could have been inspired by the perseverance and dedication from this bucher to make sure that this guy was going to hear shofar on Rosh hashana. I’m sure the Rebbe shept nachas from from this tomim
but the guy hearing the shofar shouldnt have acted that way or take a video on rosh hashana
rather one should ask do you have any Jewish family you’ll be uncovering a world of information that you would have not uncovered if you just ask are you Jewish? just a tip and a suggestion from my experience of doing mivtzoim for the last 20 years
Wow so impressive
Amazing!!
Amazing its in the genes! Your zaidy would knock over his hat to get someone to do lulav and esrog. Your other zaidy alav hashalom would give his teflin away. Your father sheyichyeh would do the same as you did and i am sure is very proud of you. You remind me of a story your maternal grandfather once went on mivtzoyim for shofar blowing they came to the hospital. They went to a patient who was unresponisive they tried to get his attention waving their hands etc to no avail your zaidy said in his ear sam, the patient,… Read more »
is more bachurim like this!! Amazing!
Could not have said it better myself!
Incredible, What nachos we all should get from him. He is welcome to come stay with us here in eretz yisroel. An inspiration
Amazing!!!! Really loved seeing that! What an outstanding bochur 🙂
@ First Glance u think wow then was the guy even “yotzei” ? That can’t be answered 100 percent but the reason behind the shofar as “Chasidus” Describes is on rosh Hashanah to bring down the power from above to pull us up that he definitely accomplished I remember me and a friend did a similar thing I blew the first set of tashrat then he blew the second i blew the third he blew the first tashat and so on later I asked a Rabbi if the guy was even yotzei he said the only issue is I may… Read more »
that was hilarious!!!
yasher koach!!
Amazing! Very impressive to see how someone would go out of their way just for one Jew. Kol hakavod! It’s time like these that make me proud to say I have a connection to chabad. What a selfless act.
Now thats chassidich!!!
Musically speaking, many people find it hard to get a sound out of a shofar standing in one place. This chossid did a great job under the circumstances. Your sincerity in sharing the mitzvoh of hearing shofar is also commendable.
Does the Rebbe address this issue anywhere? Being pushy and turning someone off vs convincing someone. I guess dvorim hayotzim min halev nichnasim el halev but still… Most of the time I’m on mivtzoim, I can’t say its mamash from the depth of my heart. Whenever i go on mivtzoim to give out neshek I am so self conscious because people get irritated and disturbed by your little question. They feel intruded on… It’s so unpleasant. I admire people that don’t even register that it could be annoying and have such conviction that their interrogation will be appreciated. But I’ve… Read more »
Who is the bochur???
Found ya in real (well, realer than reddit) life!
-A fellow r/brooklyn and r/judaism reader/participant
Moshiach now!
kol hakavod!
As a Buchor i would not let up till I finally convinced the person to do the Mitzvah…
Now as a Shliach I’ve come to realize that there are instances when you push someone to hard and they never come back to Shul or any other program.
As they say “won the battle but lost the war”
This is what Chabad is! They will do so much just to help someone get a mitzvah!! Amazing!!!
so proud!!!
BH Surprise, Surprise there are haters on this post! Wow! A Young Bochur genuinely wants this Yid to hear the shofar, and is determined to do it at all costs. No, comment #1 he is not busy trying to check it off a checklist “I tried” he really wants to do what’s right. And you will realize that the man is blown away by this young bochur. He was determined and elated to be able to help another Jew. We shoukd be joyous and proud of the Bochurim eho are passionate about The Rebbe’s Mivtzoim. There are alot more things… Read more »
this bocher qualifies as a real shliach!!!
continue michayl elchayl!!!
Moshiach now!!!!
this is a good video for your resume when you are going to look for shlichus
the Shofar did the job!!!
made this man remember he’s a Jew,
and that he has a G-d, and its ” My G-d”
“AviNU MalkeiNU”
He wasn’t expecting that and was pleasantly surprised.
GREAT STUFF
are you saying this while doing what the Rebbe DOES NOT want you to do?? the opposite of ahavas yisroel? hmm
Who is the Bochur?
Well done
Go Shmulie!!
Now matter how strenous and hard this was for his lungs, he did it just so one jew in brooklyn shuld hear the shofar. Just saying, #1.
#13… I don’t get it. “Not make a chillul hashem by being annoying?” explain. How is this being annoying? It’s a beautiful thing, a privilege to be a chossid. Perhaps you should recheck your priorities, because they don’t seem to be set straight. blowing the shofar for a jew while running is having mesiras nefesh, not annoying.
The bochur is waiting his energy and time for naught. The guy wasn’t yotzeh and there is no inyan to blow in a posul way. It may even be ossur aco. To Halacha to blow on yom tov if someone isn’t being yotzeh. Either way I’m sure the bochur was poiel something either by the guy that heard it or by Someone who sees this video.
This Bochur is awesome!
Kol Hakavod! All the respect!
hey guys are you all jealous that you didnt do the mitzvah? ha, ha, ha!!
meaning of this?
you are such a snag!! LOL!!
LOVE YOUR PROUD SISTER CHAY MUSHK!!!!
The following was a comment made on this video on r/brooklyn: “Yeah, I get it, though sometimes I feel like I have to lie and so no I’m not Jewish, because I’ve had times when I’ve admitted to being Jewish but said I was too busy or that I’m not religious, which has on more than one occasion resulted in being followed and argued with for blocks. Although one of the times that happened was not here in Brooklyn but in LA, and it was one guy all by himself with no other haredi in sight and I don’t think… Read more »
But this guy really upsets me
he represents this group that just takes advantage of chabad
Although its probably not appropriate as the video was taken on yom tov.
חנוך לנער על פי דרכו….
the bochur did great – under the circumstance!! the guy he blew for, well he was a tad cruel making the bochur run while blowing and secretly (?) vidoing him! anyways, the Rebbe is surly very proud of this bochur and so am i!!
This guy wanted to make a point! He sure wasn’t expecting that response…!
Perseverance to have another yid do a mitzva!
(Even though I’m not sure he was Yotze)
Makes me proud to be a Lubavitcher!
Now this is impressive!
Really making the Rebbe proud!
The best of what Chabad offers : “Mitzvos on the go for people on the run ” !
Hilarious!!! Amazing job!!!! so proud!
I dont think the Bochur should have done that. A little self respect and respect for the Mitzva is required. Mivtzoim is something the Rebbe instituted and the value of a mitzva is priceless. But nevertheless, we don’t force, shove or pay people to do a mitzva. We try to get THEM to do it.
