Update: Sunday 7:50 pm
Schoolgirl Michelle Levy has been found safe and well, two days after running away from her North Bondi home.
The 11-year-old was found in Surry Hills, about 20 minutes from where she went missing, at about 10.30am on Monday.
Her parents Adam and Anne Levy left their home to go and pick their daughter up with police.
Members of Hatzalah of Sydney reported that Michelle has been found “Alive and well.”
Michelle’s mother posted on social media “She’s been found. Going to fetch her now. Thank you everyone one and all!”
Chabad Rabbis were at the forefront of the search effort for the 11 year old girl who was missing for 40 hours. Chabad Rabbi Yossi Shuchat from JEMs organization was a solid support to the girl’s family throughout the crisis, bringing them food, changing the Mezuzos in their home and arranging for a letter in a Sefer Torah for Michelle.

The massive land and water search for an 11-year-old girl missing from her home in the eastern suburbs of Sydney is still underway.
Up to a thousand members of the Bondi and Jewish communities combed the local area in search of the school student on Sunday night.
“Theres a sense of very clear purpose to help bring this nightmare for this family to an end,” said Jeremy Spinak, the President of the NSW Jewish board of deputies.
Chabad Rabbis have been at the forefront of the search effort, including Police Chaplain Rabbi Mendel Kastel from the Jewish House (The command centre is based there to coordinate the search), Ambulance Chaplain Rabbi Dovid Slavin from Our Big Kitchen, Rabbi Mendy Litzman and Rabbi Yehuda Niasoff from Hatzolah, Rabbi Eli Feldman from Young Adult Chabad and many others.
Year 5 student Michelle Levy left her home in North Bondi after a family argument at 6:30pm on Saturday.
Her distraught extended family and their friends spent Saturday night scouring the streets for the missing girl before calling in the police.
By Sunday morning, a police hunt was well underway with officers from the Police Rescue Team and SES personnel searching the local area, including the eastern beaches clifftops and waterways.
Her father Adam Levy said his anxiety was rising each minute his normally well-behaved but occasionally headstrong daughter remained unaccounted for.
“Michelle, please come home,” he pleaded, “We all miss you, we love you, we just want you to be safe.”
you show the colors of a real shliach! fixing the problem at its (spiritual) core.
You are an inspiration to us all … keep on doing your amazing work and changing the lives of hundreds of children and their parents …
Boruch Hashem she is safe and sound ,What an amazing community such achdus
She needs to publicly thank all of those who took part in the search and rescue
she needs to apologize to her parents, friends, police, hatzolo, and anyone who took part in ensuring she was alive and safe
I know she did not think of all of this when she decided to run away but there should be some kind of accountability
if this will be forgotten she will probably do it again the next time she has a fight with her parents
She’s been found bh !
I live in Sydney and just want to say that the achdus that this community displayed was extremely inspiring! Over 1000 Jewish community members acted proactively in the search for Michelle, and BH, Gd answered our prayers. Massive shout out to Hatzolla, OBK and all individuals involved!
