U.S. Congressman Ted Yoho met with members of the Florida Congressional Committee (FCC PAC), a non partisan political action committee which supports the U.S. – Israel relations.
The Republican representing Florida’s 3rd congressional district came to the home of Rabbi Yehuda and Lea Kaploun in Miami Dade on Tuesday.
Among the attendees were Eytan Laor, Chairman of American Principles PAC; Rabbi Nochum Shapiro of Miami Beach, and Andy Fiske and Steven Fiske of the FCC PAC.
Congressman Yoho expressed his commitment for the security of the Israel, as well as the safety of the Jewish community in Florida, with a recent rise in anti-Semitic incidents.
He also discussed the fact that the killers of R’ Yosef Raksin, a Crown Heights resident who was shot on a Shabbos morning in North Miami Beach 3 months ago, have yet to be apprehended.
Last month, the Raksin family told COLlive.com that “the feeling we are getting is that they are just talking us down and hoping that the hype will just die down.”
Yoho, who lives in Gainesville, also shared his respect for “the great work done” by Rabbi Berl and Chanie Goldman who recently inaugurated the $4.8 million building of the Lubavitch Chabad Jewish Center in Gainesville, which serves students at University of Florida.
As a parting gift, Rabbi Kaploun presented the Congressman with the New York Times Bestseller “Rebbe” by Joseph Telushkin. Yoho thanked the Kaploun family, the Orthodox Alliance of Florida and the FCC PAC for their friendship.
i want to personally thank Rabbi Kaplun for the outstanding work he does for the community. May he be blessed with all thats good B’TOV HANIRAH V’HANIGLAH
