Just in time for Parshas Noach, the first luxury fur show will be coming to Crown Heights Sunday.
For the first time, furs from the top furriers in New York City will be displayed in Crown Heights, at a show organized by local entrepreneur Shirelle Meer.
While a first in the Brooklyn neighborhood, wearing fur is not new in the world of fashion, notes Meer.
“Back in the day, both men and women were completely covered in animal skins,” she says. “For me, it’s a real pleasure to see the women of the community enjoy a little bit of luxury.”
The highly discounted items compared to the retail prices, all made in New York, are more affordable then ever, says Meer.
The selection of furs for all ages and sizes include fox, chinchilla, mink, rabbit, sable, stone Martin, raccoon, coyote, cat-links, fitch, beaver, possum and more. Pieces with wool, cashmere, snake skins, and wool skin will be available as well.
Meer is proud to be from a group of young female entrepreneurs in the neighborhood. “There is a move towards successful female roles in the community, and I look forward to being part of that,” she says.
The sale is this Sunday from 11 am – 6 pm at Mimulo on Albany Avenue between Eastern Parkway and Union St.
As the value of the furs are very high, Crown Heights Shomrim will be patrolling the area during the sale.
