Two years. That’s how long it’s taken to learn through the entire Gemara of Seder Moed, all 731 pages of it, one page per day.
For some of the participants, it’s their first time studying all or part of it. Others have already had the incredible experience of going through all of Shas one or more times previously. Either way, though, the completion of this Seder is a major milestone – doubly so, since it came in the middle of the Yom Tov season, so many of whose details are described in these masechtos.
The Daf Hayomi shiurim of Crown Heights will be holding a siyum to mark the occasion, and invite the community at large to join us in this simcha and to be motivated to participate in one or another of the many shiurim in Nigleh and Chassidus held throughout the neighborhood.
The siyum – and a farbrengen marking the end of Tishrei and “Veyaakov Holach Ledarko” – will take place this Sunday, 25 Tishrei (Oct. 19), at 7:00 PM, at Beis Eliezer Yitzchok (R. Levy’s shul), 394 Kingston Ave.
Participating will be R. Don Yoel Levy, rav of the shul and head of OK Laboratories; R. Shlomo Holtzberg, veteran maggid shiur in Nigleh and Chassidus at Congregation Anash; R. Tzvi Hirsh Lustig, principal of Oholei Torah Elementary School; and other dignitaries.
