hypocrites
October 1, 2014 12:22 am

everyone agrees PETA is a bunch of hypocrites. They were upset when arabs sent donkeys to blow up Jews because the donkeys were being killed!! they are disgusting, ironically ask them how pro abortion they are…keep away from them..they are simply the kelipahs and yetzar harah

$30 each in London uk

With 10 kids and both parents, it’s over $360 for our family! Compare that with $60 in c.h. Wow! Ours must be made of gold…

That’s a great idea, except that the Melbourne Kapporos is not even a third of the size of the Kapporos here. Arranging each chicken in a box would A. increase the price by at least $3 for the boxes + labor, B. would immensely increase the time it takes to serve customers. (probably double the time).

Yep, that’s why the “cheaper housing” argument is not a good enough reason to move.

It’s not just the chickens. It’s also tuition (starting from when your child is 3 years old), kosher food, and other amenities that Frum Jews typically make use of (Lulav and Esrog, Matzah, etc…)

It's not about caring

After much observation and hearing what they have to say, it’s clear that these people are neither animal lovers nor humanitarians. There is no kindness there. Although some start off as well-meaning but naive people who are easily influenced, in the end most are spiteful, petty little people who are looking for some ‘action’. There’s a lot of them in crown heights now. The media let’s them know who is the popular group to support and who is the popular target. This translates into their arrogant derision of complete strangers or their patronizing support for the ‘in-group’ of deprived people… Read more »

Been there done that. You can’t get anywhere with these people. Most of them are atheists so trying to explain “old traditions” to them doesn’t do any good. Best to just keep away from them. You will just get frustrated if you don’t. Believe me.

Peta are freaks

Thank you, Hecht family

We know Rabbi JJ Hecht had mesiras nefesh decades ago to fulfill the Rebbe’s request to bring in chickens to NYC for kapparos. Before that, the Jewish public basically had no way to fulfill this precious and emotionally powerful minhag. Thank you for continuing the good work and, additionally, keeping it affordable for everyone!

Here in Miami we are being charged $23 PER chicken!!!

to all our future debaters
September 29, 2014 9:45 pm

try not to practice with them you really want to go on mivtzoim and talk to whoever you want!

Why is it a frum thing
September 29, 2014 8:37 pm

to just not care about the chickens suffering? The manner they are kept in the trucks before kapporos is cruel. And the way we hold them is also painful – just look at the way the Rebbe held the chickens, not the same way we all do.

Check out the cite on anti PETA

PETAKILLSANIMALS.COM PETA Kills 6 mostly healthy dogs a day only .07% are adopted ie about 14,400 total killed and workers were arrested for dumping their bodies. They collect big money from 3 million members. The celebrities spokespeople have leather seats, eat meat, leather jackets etc.. They “rescue” dogs from the pound and kill them. They compare the holocaust victims to chickens. Give out comic books to kids that shows mommy killing rabbits. Say G-d doesn’t allow kosher slaughter. They were affiliated with violent groups that destroyed businesses and encourage violence. But I agree the best way is to ignore them… Read more »

why don’t you ask them….dare them shall I say, to meet with you, and tell them the truth of who we are and what this is about and then give them the 7mitzvos bnai noach.

Never saw a chicken fur coat
September 29, 2014 6:57 pm

The chickens were raised to be eaten by people for many years ..maybe they are suffering in the way the farmer grows it but it’s a different story …who don’t like it can use different kaporah ….

Do it the Australian way!
September 29, 2014 6:10 pm

In Melbournee a pet box (cardboard with air holes) is provided for each person doing Kaporas. We swing the box around our heads with the chicken comfortably riding inside, and then stand in line with our boxes.

Thank you ncfje
September 29, 2014 4:53 pm

Thank you Hecht mishpocha and NCFJE for providing this service and giving us an affordable opportunity to perform the mitzvah of kaporot

i don't understand the problem
September 29, 2014 4:15 pm

I don’t get the issue, they dont protest when i eat chicken. It not like these chickens are going to waste. Their kill chickens to eat why won’t they protest the slaughter houses?

Agree!
September 29, 2014 3:36 pm

We need to ignore the PETA demonstrators. They are only there to antagonize us. We know what we need to do and that’s all that matters.
Also, I completely agree that we should treat the chickens (and any other animals we come into contact with) with complete respect. It is an AVEIRA to mistreat animals and unfortunately, many frum people grow up thinking it’s ok to abuse or mistreat animals. Please keep in kind that they are just as much one of Hashems creatures as you are!

the rabonim should come out with a isur to talk with them

Do not show any fear or timidity
September 29, 2014 1:53 pm

That’s when we start to lose the battle. Be strong and completely ignore them like they don’t exist. Ain od milvado.
