Just to add to a thriving semester of over 50 students, last week Aepie and Chabad of Oneanta and Chabad The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) converged at Yeshiva Tiferes Bachurim to celebrate being Jewish and to finely hone their senses to the idea of atonement in the Chassidic inner circles of Chabad.
Following a most wonderful experience last year, Aepie brothers insisted on making this their 2nd annual Yeshiva immersion experience in Tiferes, this time to coincide with the Slichos preparation and service. 3 groups from Oneanta and one from the College of New Jersey came together to share inspiration.
The lively Farbrengen led by Rabbi Yaakov Wagner and Rabbi Boruch Hecht was also joined by Rabbi Zalman Schurder of Chabad on Campus International foundation.
“It’s amazing to see how well the boys take to this sort of cultural experience, they loved it!,” said Rabbi Kivi Greenbaum of Chabad of TCNJ. “They want to come for the very next Farbrengen and bring with a much bigger group!”
“Most college students are not brave enough to just try it! But it was really great and we thank the Yeshiva for having us,” said A. Friedman of Oneanta.
The Farbrengen continued again after the Slichos service and went on for hours. In the morning college students paired up with yeshiva students to study Tanya, followed by a class with the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Dubinsky.
Before eating some breakfast and hitting the road there was Chabad House style Tefillin and prayer service. The program enhanced the evening and created many lasting friendships between the college students and their newly found friends in Yeshiva.
