Dear Hanholas Yeshivas Kayitz,
I’ll be honest with you, when I dropped my son off at the airport almost seven weeks ago, I was a bit frightened: the bodies of the three Israeli teens had just been discovered, rocket fire from Gaza was intensifying, and the media was speaking about war.
Which mother would send their young son to Israel at a time like this? Some of the other parents I spoke to assured me though that I shouldn’t worry, and I decided to go ahead and send my 14 year old son off to Yeshivas Kayitz Tzeirei Hashluchim in Tzfas.
And I’m glad I did.
Since my son came back he hasn’t stopped talking about his experience in Eretz Yisroel. The new friends he made, the warm and caring staff, the amazing trips, the beautiful campus etc. I never heard any of my kids talk so much and with such enthusiasm about camp.
A complete yeshiva setting combined with a well-organized program of sports, trips, and activities, proved to be a perfect environment for real growth.
My son told me he feels he learned more this summer than during his past year in yeshiva, as part of Mivtzah Torah he learned the entire Mesechtas Rosh Hashana Bal Peh. He came back learning rambam daily, speaking in a more chassidishe way, and I noticed an increased sensitivity to Chasidishkeit and the Rebbe.
So on behalf of all the parents, I would like to thank the staff of Yeshivas Kayitz, especially Executive director, Rabbi Chaim Kaplan and director, Eli Rosenfeld as well as the head staff Leibel Hecht and Eli Chaikin for a superb job.
The affect you had on our children will hopefully be a long-lasting one, and may your program continue to see success for many years to come.
