News update and photos by Camp Gan Israel of Montreal, Canada:
Our grand trip to six flags, La Ronde was an incredible success. With an early start campers had plenty of time to enjoy the amazing rides the park has to offer. The camp’s spirit was really felt throughout the park.
After Mincha and a delicious pizza and fries from “Totty’s pizza” in Montreal, campers went back into the park and remained till closing time. As they boarded the coach buses, each camper and staff member was given a fresh delicious doughnut, delivered directly from the Homemade Kosher Bakery.
Campers returned to camp, excited and exhausted! Things are running a lot later than usual this morning as we attempt to make up for some lost sleep, making sure our campers are well rested before Shabbos, ready to enjoy the last Shabbos of first session.
Our masmidim took advantage of the empty camp grounds yesterday, enjoying the computer room, lake front, and pool and sports fields, ending their day with a lakefront barbecue.
After an amazing Shabbos here in camp, we started our last week of first session with lots of winners, trips and excitement. The session came to a climax around a huge bonfire in the baseball field last night.
Bunk competition and learning class winners were announced and rewarded to trips early this morning, alternating between jet boating and white water rafting. Camp congratulates our hard working winners.
The bunk competition winners were bunks Vov, Yud Beis, Tes Vov and Kevutza Ches, learning class winners were Rabbi Laufer’s class, Rabbi Brickman’s class Rabbi Gelman’s class and Rabbi Sirota’s class.
Additionally our Tanya bal peh and mamar bal peh winners were rewarded with a go-karting trip yesterday. While the staff of section c were treated to a night out in Montreal!
As our first month campers begin their farewell and packing, we end our session with final sports games, mishnayos bal peh rewards and more. Looking forward to another wonderful session.
