I met Rabbi Abelsky in 1999 when I visited
Moldova with my father, who was born there.
We had the pleasure of having Friday night
dinner with him & his wife.
He was a wonderful man.
My condolences to his wonderful family

Im not Chabad. Dont know much Chassidus. I was fortune to meet Rabbi Zalman in Kishinev, he taught me whatever I know. I know how to read from Torah, to read Haftorah, to pray. I know what it means to be a Chassid, only because I watched Rabbi Zalman how he lives his life.

I was helped by his family in Israel and NY. I was treated wherever I went as a son of Rabbi Zalman.

His family should be comforted.

He helped me become frum. I went to his first Jewish school on moldova. I never knew how old he is. Always full of life, energy, help, determination and always available to help and give blessings. A true chosid of the Rebbe. May his memory be a blessing and may his family know no sorrow

He was responsible for my intro to Yiddishkite and chassidus in 1989. Although this was the last time I saw him the pain is very real. BD”E

Spending summers wi th rabbi abelsky was most spectacular. His yiras shamayim, was like nothing we ever witnessed and what he was able to accomplish reflected a man closely connected to a higher reality of what us as humans can accomplish. A real chossid! Love this man!

More than sad

What an amazing couple, based on the article he would have been 62 when they left Israel to bring Yiddishkeit back to the Jews of Moldova. I would like to send condolences and express my admiration to the family, where can we write?

Years ago, I was privileged to spend a summer in Moldova.
He was a real chossid with yiras shomayim.
The chassidishe warmth and personal care he displayed towards his community and all who came in contact with him, stays with me to this very day.
So sad.

2 Decades too long!!!
