Cant tell you how frustrating it is as a staff member at a school to constantly have to deal with parents who believe their child can do no wrong!

Parents who react defensively when told about their child’s behavior cause the teacher to think twice before contacting a second time.

Imagine an adult having to try to convince another adult that a twelve year old boy or girl is lying! Kids NEED their parents to be on the same side as the teacher. Unfortunately, though, many children have their parents on short leashes

thank you.

Another point- when a professional gives advice and strategies, it is the responsibility of the school to implement them. Unfortunately it doesn’t happen enough.

I’m a teacher and a mommy of many children, K”H, and there is valuable advice here. My favorite is, “A strong line of communication between parents and children is the number one prevention for difficulties and frustrations in a child’s schooling.”

This is the real avodah for parents these days. I would say that communicating with the school as it says above,
“initiate communication with the teacher when an issue arises,” and “speaking positively of and supporting the school, especially in the presence of students.”

Thank you so much for posting this. Wise words!!!!!!!!!
