The Friedman family, the nephews of the Chasidic singer Avraham Fried, has recorded a medley of “B’Tzeis Yisroel” from “Hallel”.
In honor of Chag HaPesach we present this moving and festive rendition.
One of the brothers, the singer Simche Friedman, told COLlive, “For my father’s sixtieth birthday we recorded a CD of our favorite songs, the songs we sang around the Shabbos table, the songs we grew up with. The CD, which has twelve tracks, is called “Shehechyonu”. This is one of the songs.”
The song was recorded by three generations: Rabbi Eli Friedman; his four sons Yossi, Michoel, Simche, and Yehuda; and his grandchildren Mendy, Nochie and Yankele.
Arrangements and Piano: Simche Friedman
Recorded at: Y. Barkahan, Shimon Biton

So what’s holding up the going out of this cd?
to take an old song like this, and make it to be interesting and entertaining, it is a big accomplishment.
and it means a talent is present here.
So i repeat the question raized in the subject headliner: NU??

Beautiful. One correction to the solo singer: it’s not “Hagam” but “AGAM”… otherwise everything is wonderful…

Wow!
It is truly great to get a glimpse of a chsiddishe shabbos table.
Being a Baal Teshuva, I don’t have the Zechus and opportunity to sing my own ancestress nigunnim. But thanks to the friedmen family I am getting the opportunity to give over to my children real traditional songs.
