This Pesach Chol haMoed holiday visitors to Crown Heights will be learning about the Ketores at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens thanks to a Crown Heights resident.
Over the last few years the Botanical Gardens has been cultivating collection of the Ketores under the watchful eye of Rabbi Yehuda Benchemhoun. There are many herbs and plants needed to make the Ketores incense that could be ground into the daily incense offering in the Beis HaMikdosh. The special collection of Ketores plants are supervised by Brooklyn Botanical Gardens curator Karla Chandler.
The Botanical Gardens has also been cultivating a complete collection of the Daled Minim in its artificially controlled climate Greenhouse. Last Sukkos, hundreds of visitors to the Gardens came to see the seasonal four species growing in their natural state. During Chol HaMoed, an informative guided tour was provided by botanic expert and specialist on Lulavim and Esrogim, Rabbi Benchemhoun.
A perfect short trip for the kids, and just a stone’s throw from Crown Heights, the local Botanic Gardens also boasts myriad varieties of other plants, hundreds of exotic flowers and trees from all over the world. This year, visitors to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens Greenhouse can enjoy an interactive tour learn about other fascinating horticultural displays of interest to the Jewish connoisseur.

Regardless.
Don’t be glass-half-empty about Moshiach.
The nations have been interested in Judaism for thousands of years. 300 years ago such a display would have drawn even more interest from non-Jews than it did now.
Why–because you say so?
It shows us how the Geula is near because this display is made possible by “the help of nations of the world.”
How does this tell us anything at all about when the geulah will come? Exactly such a display could just as easily have been made centuries ago, and many were.
Just shows how near the geula is
