Chaim Hershkowitz of Crown Heights is on a mission, to fill Jewish homes with kosher videos that are entertaining and educational.
With the release of “Bella Brocha Goes to a Wedding,” Hershkowitz has three winners to his credit: “Mitzvah Boulevard,” “Wonders of Hashem,” and now “Bella Brocha.”
It almost did not happen, he says.
“Originally, ‘Wonders of Hashem’ was aimed for boys and we wanted to follow up with a video series specifically geared towards girls. So I tried taking a feminine perspective, but it soon became obvious that I needed an expert.”
He turned to the talented singer and songwriter Chanale Fellig. After carefully going over the characters and storyline, Chanale created original songs and a great script that was funny and had lots of good lessons.
“She really did a phenomenal job,” Hershkowitz says.
Chanale has her own modest take on the project, noting, “Who doesn’t love weddings?”
The real surprise came when “Bella Brocha” was previewed to a local audience, as reported on COLlive. Parents came up and said how much their girls enjoyed “Wonders of Hashem” and their boys are excited about “Bella Brocha.”
“This shows the great need for a Jewish multi-media company like Torah Treasures,” Hershkowitz explains. “We are fortunate to have generous supporters like David and Malkie Smetana. It is only thanks to their help that we can produce such great DVDs without having to compromise on quality,” he says.
“Bella Bracha Goes to a Wedding,” is now available in stores and online at TorahTreasure.com and MostlyMusic.com.
