The family of Satmar landlord Menachem Stark, who are sitting shivah at their home in Williamsburg following his brutal murder, were visited by two members of the Crown Heights Beis Din.
Rabbi Yaacov Schwei and Rabbi Yosef Braun were warmly greeted by the family as they shared words of comfort and consolation. They were accompanied by activists Chanina Sperlin and Eli Slavin.
The New York Police Department is continuing to search for clues that will shed light and catch the people responsible for the kidnapping and torching of the body of Stark, who was 39-years-old, married and a father of 8 children.
“We are getting a lot of evidence and additional video and getting a lot of information regarding the dealings of the victim and his partners. It’s a complex investigation,” said new Police Commissioner Bill Bratton.
The Daily News reported that investigators have tracked down more video of the van with Ohio plates that was used to snatch Stark, who was found this past Shabbos dead in a dumpster in Great Neck, NY.
Sources said among the leads the investigators are running down is a car rental company with offices in Borough Park and Park Slope that’s popular in the chassidic community and has vehicles with Ohio plates.
